amt grant king my first sprint and maybe my last as this sometimes tested my patients. box stock except for tried and true masking yape seat belts and i added a windshield because the pics i found online had one. i've got to hand it to those of you that do build sprints especially the winged cars . (the body is 5 pieces) this is is going on the 'back burner' as it is now steelhead season.

built this 10 to 12 years ago , is box stock except for decals and 'hobby lobby' black bracelet -chain. last year i gave it to the garage that has been doing saftey inspections on my vehicles for 25 years as the majority of their work is on semis. & city tandem dumps ,fire engines ect.

built this last winter and kind of lost intrest 1/2 way through the build. it came with HUGE fuel dragster slicks which just wouldn't work. BUT i got some tips from DRH_97's post and had to lower it quite a bit and use different (smaller) dirt tires.

detail is unbelievable - just how long did this build take ? do you have a 'real' car that you restored or race ? -

WOW! can't believe the detail some of you put in to your cars. that's real nice.

when i was a kid model cars were $1.49 !! started driving 1969 gas was 35 cents ! but building models kind of brings back the 'youth' ! started out with ferrari then 30's to 40's trucks then gassers as they were my time, now circle track stuff-old modifieds and sprint as i never got 'into' nascar

first of all i'm 70 and a retired millwright installed & repaired industrial machinery for 40 years. built model cars and an occasional air plane when i was a kid. but 20 years ago 2 of my work buddies talked me into modeling again - so i've been building one every winter since. i don't completely understand how to use this site but i guess i will eventually. seems like a nice informative place.
