  1. Nice looking Chevette. That color grows on ya. I'm liking it.
  2. Thanks Bill. That engine was sent to me by friend and I could have sworn it said 312 on the bag. I did swap out the intake and carb for the two 4 barrel setup. Maybe I'll just call it a 302.
  3. Much Appreciated Greg.
  4. Thanks Dennis. I thought the wheels & tires worked out nicely on this build.
  5. Glad to have you, welcome. Nice lookiing restored models.
  6. Thanks Joe. I thought it came out pretty good. Great kit.
  7. Thanks Dave. I appreciate the kind words.

  11. Yeah Buddy....I'm liking it. Thanks.
  12. Finished this build this morning. This was the Monogram kit I bought off eBay a while back. Fun build but like all my builds it didn't come without some issues. Paint was airbrushed with Tamiya acrylic X-4 Blue thinned with Mr. Color Leveling Thinner. I cleared it with Tamiya X-22 Clear. After wet sanding I went over the body with Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Fine-cut cleaner and then it was polished with Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax. The wheels & tires came from the Monogram 1937 Ford Sedan kit. The 312 "Y" block engine was donated from a good online friend. The suspension was lowered with a little California rake. The base coat on the bed was painted with a custom blend of FolkArt Raw Lumber and Anita's Gloss Black. It was then dry brushed with the Anita's Gloss Black trying to bring out the grain. I was going for a Black Walnut. WIP: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/177579-1950-ford-pickup/

  14. Yeah Buddy. Now that's something you don't see every day. Great looking build and nice detail work but the engine is detailed to the Max. Very nice build.
  15. Nice looking 50 Olds Sedan Delivery. I'm liking the green. Nice looking wheels & tires and the stance looks right on. I'm just not a big fan of resin due to the issues you speak of and parts are brittle. Don't ask me how I know.
  16. Looks like it came out pretty nice Mario despite the issues. Those Tamiya colors go together well. Another nice build.
  17. That's a good looking 71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda. Just a nice looking build and I'm liking the Diorama.
  18. Pretty kewl looking 49 Merc Sedan Delivery. Great color choice and I love the Three Stooges on the back. Nice build.
  19. The 65 Chevy Gasser is looking pretty good. All those color good together nicely.
  20. Nice. Thanks for the info.
  21. I hear ya man. Good stuff everywhere. I had a Lowe's gift card so it was a Freebie for me.
  22. I got the wipers, door handles, & interior tub installed this morning. I also thought I would paint the wood in the bed to see if the color is what I want. I painted the bottom first just in case I didn't like it. I think it's looking pretty good. Just need to figure out a lighter color to lightly dry brush over this.
  23. I've already started transferring parts to the new organizer bins.
  24. Thanks for all the help fellows. I had a Lowe's coupon so I picked these up yesterday.
