  1. Well a small update. Got some of the engine put together and did some black wash to give some better detail. Starting to put the bottom and chassis together now. Hopefully more updates on the interior soon.
  2. Nice progress everybody!!!! Very cool builds going on. I've made a little progress in the past few weeks on the 1982 Porsche. Got all of the parts painted and started detail painting everything. Just a simple flat red interior. Painted the body today and right at the end somebody came down the driveway on a tractor. Dust Got all in it, but I think I can save it with some good ol wet sanding after the dehydrator is done running. Taped off the trim to be painted black and the dang paint rippled on me. I hope I can save that for real because the color is really cool. I can polish the paint out without the clear and it'll look good if I can get it right. Color is Graphite Metallic loaded with silver PearlEx.
  3. Well an update after a week...... Still cleaning parts up on the Porsche. Gonna be a pain to paint since I'll have to tape all the trim and do body color and then tape the body off and paint the trim. All fun😆👎
  4. Not too much progress really. Just filled in some weird spots near the rear window. Got it sanded down decent. Knocked down the high spots where the doors are to make it level. Forgot about the mold pin marks on the interior roof, so I just threw some putty on there and let it dry overnight and sand that down tomorrow. Other than that, I just washed parts with some Dawn dish soap and the toof brush. I was thinking maybe a silver color with a dark red interior with this build. There's a ton of black for the trim and windows. Kind of dreading taping that off. Good progress on the other builds too.
  5. Doesn't seem like it would be too hard. Like you said, research. At least I'm not going over my head on the scratchbuilding. Only other thing I'll have to do is cut the rear fender a little. I'm sure I can manage that pretty good after I mock up the rear end and see how much I'll have to cut
  6. Thanks a lot. I'll be doing extensive research very soon
  7. I wanted to use the stock frame for this build. And also use as many of the stock parts as possible. Thank you for the info. I'd like to get the build done for a show next year so I'm not in a huge hurry.
  8. I wasn't really referring in making one for me. Just wanted to know how to go about doing it
  9. Could somebody possibly help me make a straight axle with the leaf springs for a gasser? I just recently bought a 57 Chevy and really want to make it a gasser. I've never done any scratch building before. Any help would be appreciated.
  10. Well....... I'm back again this year to actually participate. I was making a bit of progress on the build and my mother passed away suddenly last March, so I was dealing with a lot of stuff and not motivated at all. I'm doing a lot better. I didn't really build anything all year and then I got some stuff painted on new builds. Finally got one finished in January and another one almost finished, but it came out just good enough for the case. Entered a contest just yesterday and I was impressed with the feedback I got for that car. I was fist pumping like Pauly D from the Jersey Shore inside😂. @disconovamanwas there and will tell you I was just not showing any signs of emotions. He's a cool dude that I've got to know really well in 2 years. So, I'm back and at it again to put my name on the board for this year's Cannonball build. I was going to do a VW Scirrocco, but upon further research the rear window was a lot longer on the 1982 Scirocco and the kit was actually a 1977. So now I present to you a 1982 Porsche 911 Carrera. I have no idea what I'm gonna do with it yet. I'll start cleaning up parts and figure it out. Maybe fuel cell in the front? Me don't know. Oh yea, all of yalls builds are going to be awesome. I've been snooping on the pages
