MCM Regular (3/6)

  1. I recently ordered Scalefinishes engine enamel. It’s not good stuff. It stays tacky for several days. I was disappointed, based on how good their lacquer base is.
  2. I like MCW and Scalefinishes “Lacquer”, for base coat. I’ve been decanting Testors lacquer gloss clear, as I have a healthy supply I bought before they discontinued it. (At least, nobody around me carries it) I’ve decanted Tamiya semi gloss black I bought in aerosol cans. I use it on chassis parts and anything else i want to finish in semi gloss black. I’ve used testors square bottle enamel, thinned 100%, but it takes forever to dry, and the finish isn’t that great. I like Alclad for metal parts and the Alclad chrome is awesome, as well.
  3. I have the interior wrapped up, minus the dash tach. I’m going to pin it in place, so I don’t foul up my dash paint.
  4. My Fireball model works carbs and Cragar mags showed up. Excellent product, as per usual. I started wiring the HEMI and shot some Alclad “chrome” on the wheels. the tires are from my stash.
  5. I have the car in color, cleared, polished and fouled.
  6. Working on getting the interior together. I used embossing powder for the carpet. I need to bash a set of A100 seats from another kit, but I haven’t cracked the donor kit, yet. I hate doing that, but it will likely be my next move.
  7. Great project! FYI, Buick guys love it when you say, “nice Chevelle”. 😜 I usually follow that up with “Wow! That wrap looks great”
  8. Cleveland Ohio 😎🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
  9. I decided to try some acrylic paints and some “dry brushing” to weather the bottom and engine compartment. I’m attempting to replicate a nice driver type car Here’s my attempt:
  10. I’ve also been working on the front and rear brightwork. I still have work to do on the rear, but I’m getting there.
  11. Here’s the body in surfacing primer. I thinned Tamiya and Sprayed it with an Paasche H brush. Lots of detail sanding to go.
