  1. Amazing Job! I saw a Tasca Thunderbolt on ebay the other evening. You have done the project justice on an older never to be made again model!
  2. Awesome build! Love it! What chassis and cage did you use?
  3. iBorg, I'm on the hunt for a Mustang body currently. I will be sure to make a wip thread. It's going to be a fun labor intensive build. It's hard getting models that are 40 plus years old and finding information and reference photos for a lot of older pro stock cars. Thanks for your support it means a lot! Cheers,Adam
  4. Looking for a kit in those years. There's very few on ebay and wondering if any of the members here might have one they'd be willing to part with. Thanks guys and gals. P.S. could be the body and trim only if anybody has parts laying around. Thanks again! Cheers,Adam
  5. That revisited build looks fantastic, Landman!
  6. Force, thanks for the info and tips! I think I will try the thin strips of styrene to shim things up. I want to do this project justice and be as correct as possible. Cheers,Adam
  7. Thanks, Zenon. How much of a difference is there between 1:24 and 1:25 scale models. Say if both were Mustangs but on in 1:24 scale and one in 1:25 scale? Have been considering the Thunderbird models as well as you have mentioned. Cheers,Adam
  8. Zenon, I'm going to recreate the Dean Thompson owned 1981 Ford Mustang driven by Ronnie Sox and powered by a 577 cubic inch BBF built by Jack Roush. Cheers,Adam P.S. here's a few pics
  9. Andy, that's what I've figured out with research. I was thinking maybe being 577 cubic inch it may be a larger engine, but,it's all internal stroking that makes the 429 a 577. I feel it's a very cool car as well! I'm drawn to the car by itself, then there's the facts of it was driven by Ronnie Sox and won the championship that season, was powered by the cat in the hat Jack Roush and owned by Dean Thompson! It's a piece of history. Cheers,Adam
  10. Alan, I would be interested but not sure what you would like in trade. Let me know what you come up with! Thank you Cheers,Adam
  11. Sorry for the other response about the engine. I was confused on the subject. I'm also looking at model kits to figure out an engine. To your post, there is a red monogram kit,a pace car kit, snakebite kit,a wild breed kit,and if you're really lucky there's a motorcraft dealer item only mustang kit from monogram. I've been doing a lot of research trying to figure out the perfect kit.
  12. Yes, there's a red monogram one in the "red hot thunderbird" kit. It's 1:24 scale. The Mustang model kit will be 1:25. Don't think being an engine that it would make that much of a difference. I'm going to go with one out of a Bob Glidden Thunderbird kit due to the design of the motor plate. I was thinking that there would maybe be an actual engine to scale. It does make sense it's just going to be a mold of a 429.
  13. I really appreciate your help Fat Brian. This will be a really cool build! Wanting to do it some justice. I chose it because I love pro stock and found it amazing what Ronnie Sox accomplished in the 81 season with this car. It's going to be a challenge! Cheers,Adam
  14. Yes sir that's what I'm attempting to recreate. It's taking some research and knowledge from other people to figure out what all it's gonna take to get started. Here's what I'm after.
  15. Thanks everyone for all the help. Sorry if it was a simple one for you guys. I didn't know what all there was in kits and after market. I'm pointed in the right direction now. Cheers, Adam
