That turned out great! I've done a couple of Ditomaso147's designs, and I've been very happy with them. I'm glad to see this, along with the Dan's Models N-900 diesel are bringing the old Ford N-series trucks back to life. Well done!

Very cool model, by the way. Using wood as a material makes sense since the original cabs were made of wood! -

We still have them in Utah and Wyoming -
You truly are the king of bolts! This looks great! Just out of curiosity, will the engine be Cat yellow or DD Alpine Green?

I think I bought half of AITM’s catalog from Dave and then Doug, but there are so many still on my list… the Ford Big Job for sure, also the 50’s Diamond T 921 COE, the Diamond Reo Raider… on and on. But yeah, he’ll be swamped with orders as soon as he reopens.

Can’t wait to see it in primer! This is gonna be great! -
I haven't seen a buildable T660 on Cults yet; neither Alfa nor Hora have one. Alfa has a T2000, which I've downloaded and will get around to printing and building one of these days. I agree, the T660 is the missing link between the original T600 and the T680 and a good looking truck in its own right.

Thanks, Victor! I'm very lucky that way. My place is between two major ski resorts, overlooking a mountain lake, so I have no complaints; when it snows too much to get out, I stay in until my snowplow guy can get to me! I shoot all my models using an older Canon T1I; I have a little folding table and a piece of particle board, painted flat black. I put the model on that, and then I can crouch down to get low-angle shots for a more realistic looking view. A quick pass through Photoshop to crop, straighten the image and balance the lighting and color, and I'm good to go!

Thanks for all the positive comments! Alfa is the designer who also did my second-gen Freightliner Cascadia, which I built before I got a 3D printer. My buddy Bren very generously printed it up for me, and that's what inspired me to get into it. Alfa's Cascadia design is also top quality and turned out nicely, I posted it here a while back. Some of Alfa's stuff is being printed and offered for sale by Global Scale Models, so if you don't have a 3D printer you can try them.

it was a gloomy, dark day in northern Utah today, not exactly conducive to good model photography, but sunshine is not forecasted for another week and I finished this build over the weekend. And, well, I've never been known for my patience! So, here it is. It's a "Next Gen" Kenworth T680, with a 70" high rise sleeper and most of the bells and whistles of a brand new truck. It's a curbside model, with a complete interior but no engine or rolling wheels. It's a good mate on the shelf for my A&N W990, along with my new-style Cascadia, Peterbilt 579, Italeri Volvo and Moebius Internationals. Together with my W900L and Pete 389, I now have models representing about 90% of the highway rigs I see on the freeways around here these days. That wouldn't be possible without 3D printing. The cab is printed from a design by Alfa Centauri on Cults, who (IMO) is the best big-truck 3D designer on the site I've seen yet. It was designed in 1/14 to fit on a Tamiya chassis, but it scaled down to 1/25 without any issues and printed up just fine with a minimal amount of post-processing work. There were a lot of separate parts, which fit together well. The chassis is a Revell KW (originally from the Level 5 wrecker kit) and the wheels and tires are from Moebius. Paint is Testors Tangerine, airbrushed from the tiny bottle, along with Revell chrome spray for the big pieces and Molotow for the details. So, enjoy!

That's one that will get pulled out for further inspection at every weigh station! Awesome weathering, really well done. I love it! -

Now, that’s going to be an impressive and unique model! It’s very cool and great work so far. You are 3-D design skills are amazing! Looking forward to your progress! -
I think you’re right. Although a lot of sources say the W 900 came out in 1961, Kenworth has it as 1963, which is when the new cab was introduced and the headlights became inset into the fenders. It replaced the 900 series, which is what the second AITM cab was designed to represent. I think mine is a 923. it’s really too bad AMT didn’t come up with a tanker truck trailer combo like this back in the day. It probably would’ve sold well for them. Truck trailer combos were really popular in the West back in the day, not only tankers, but also flatbeds and even some vans. I have an early 50s Kenworth bullnose flatbed truck, which I paired with a flatbed trailer. I plan on sprucing it up one of these days and putting a load of hay on it.

AITM had two different narrow nose KWs, and I built both. One is a 1955 high mount; they also offered a low mount version of this cab. The other is an early 60s version, probably a 625, but pre-W 900. Yours is a first generation W 900, which came out in 1961 and was replaced in 1967 with the wide hood W 900A. It turned out beautifully, it’s exactly like the rigs I remember in my younger days in Northern California. Kudos on a great build!

No, I’ll check it out. I just built the T680 from Hora; it was a bit of a challenge but it looks good now. -
