  1. Found this on eBay packaged with my Derrike Cope kit for $10 for both, so $5 apiece. Box stock with box decals. In the spirit of how these kits were meant for kids, I followed the kit directions and laid the pin striping down first, and then brush painted the black! Honestly didn’t turn out too bad! With the AMT snap kits, the giant wheel hubs are the worse part, but was a fun little slump buster!!
  2. Found this gem on eBay for around $5. These weren’t bad little kits and I loved that they came with decals instead of stickers like the Monogram snap kits. The decals for the checkerboard were more of a red so they don’t blend that great with the paint, but it didn’t turn out bad in my opinion! The worst part of these kits were the gigantic wheel hubs to accommodate the “snap” function of the wheels. I left the entire wheel gloss black to try and sort-of blend them in a bit. Thanks for looking!!
  3. Unreal. That’s a great job!
  4. I have a built monogram kit from years ago as well, but these AMT kits aren’t too shabby!
  5. That’s cool! One of the best looking cars to ever race. The windows are just tape and good old black paint. Coating them in future seals up the paint well.
  6. Nope! Just the set of the box decals. You had to be careful with them, but they held up well. And, I agree. The chassis and other components leave a lot to be desired, but the bodies look great in my opinion.
  7. Hood Pin decals! Haha those and the seatbelt decals. Only non-box parts.
  8. Controversially, I’ve always had an affinity for these old AMT NASCAR kits. Not as good as the Revell/Monogram kits, but I actually think these Pontiac bodies are closer to the real car than the Monogram kits were. Completely box stock other than a seatbelt decal. Even used the kit tire decals. These old AMT decals hold up well, you just have to work slowly and be patient with them.
  9. Looks great! I loved this car. Now I have an idea for a future project!
  10. Well, if it is, it ain’t getting fixed now. Hahaha
  11. Looks great!
  12. This is my second one of these kits. They look great when built, but they are kind of a bear to build. I tried to replicate the Penske wheels by painting the wheels gloss black and then outlining the edges with a chrome pen. This looks more like the real thing, in my opinion, than the full chrome wheels that come on the die cast. Added seat belts and airbrushed the black over the rocker panels, roof, and roof pillars. Everything else is the kit decals. Thanks for looking!
  13. Revell kit. Box stock, but my little one lost my taillight lenses so I had to fashion some new ones! Loved this kit. Tried to replicate the box art. I’m pretty proud of how this one turned out.
  14. Yeah, they were pretty good!!
  15. Stumbled across this kit for pretty cheap on eBay so I figured I would give it whirl just to change it up some. Felt that it came out pretty well other than the heat shields wouldn’t allow the back to sit down flush so I left them off. IndyCals helped me get a little more accurate look and I added some thrown together seat belts.
