  1. Thank you @Gene K, Mr Hobby Clear UV Gloss. Good reviews from other users. Needs several days between layers and polishing.
  2. My latest build for a friend from work, and BMW, slot car enthusiast. Instructions called for Championship white, but we opted for the Racing white by Tamiya. Clearcoated with Mr Color Gloss aerosol and light sanding, followed by polished. A bit worried about polishing down to the decals, so not as smooth as it could be. Finished per instructions. I wished kit manufacturers would give the sunshade visor decals as only the logos and let the builder paint the background. Next time I will paint a white base before the decal. Thank you for viewing and critiques always welcome. Craig
  3. Thank you and everyone for kind comments. My first introduction to the car was when I spent more time on PS GranTurismo. I do prefer the second generation version but there is no kit of it, available yet. My very long return to car modelling was spurned by my follows on X(formally Twitter), who are mostly Japanese modellers. Some of them post tips and details of their build. Builders like Xmen @HirakawaDavid and @RaptorGmbH make it hard not to be in awe of their skills. I tried to add this scratch trunk lid brakelight reflector made from a small piece of photoetch and coated with clear black and red but turnout to be very difficult to attach. Craig
  4. Thank you for allowing me to post another build. More work on trying to improve my gloss finish. I chose the "lowered" option and in hindsight I have would now gone for the normal ride car or maybe a half-lowered modification. Perhaps the light shrouds on the inside were interfering with the body sitting level on the frame. Mr Hobby paints and clear coat gloss. The roll bars and grille were de-chromed and Rub'n Buff silver applied on the grille to slightly tone it down from chrome. I'm adding an upper trunk brake light reflector panel but it will have to dry a few more days before applying. Thank you for checking in and all comments welcome.
  5. My second recent car model build for a number of years and finding a few challenges with gloss finish and clear parts. A small change to the kit with the removal of the side windows. I was impressed with the kit quality and read some reviews before purchasing. Thank you for looking and any comments and suggestions are welcome.
  6. Thank you Garry. For art I've tried pencil, coloured pencil and ink. This Graham Hill, is ink in pointillism. And thank you all for the welcoming comments. Craig
  7. Hello Long time modeller of many subjects, aircraft, armour, miniature figures and artist of several mediums, including digital. I've often thought you can put a car and aircraft modeller in the same room, and they would have nothing to talk about. But I cross many facets, maybe due to an active imagination and short attention span. Collected and built a few auto models over the years but admit they are usually a straight out of the box build, something just to bring me back to fun part of modelling. My current build is the Revell Porsche 911, and it's almost finished. Hopefully finding some tips and guidance to improve the finish on future projects. Here is an image of my Pastel Pencil work. Thank you to Model Cars Magazine for providing this forum. Craig
