  3. Had to do some extra work on this one.....had to detail the engine especially the distributor cords and other engine parts ....detailed the firewall.... Chassis detailed as well ....I used thin lamenated wood for the flooring and detailed inside the cabin....threaded wheels Finished in gravity paints and lacquers ....hand polished the bodywork hope you like it best regards from Malta Lou

  5. They were used at night mainly ...the idea came from submariners who seemed to maintain good vision at night with red lighting ....Those on the alfa were translucent covers were supposed to help the drivers at night
  6. This was my first ever car kit ....it was already started by my son ...he gave up and I decided to have a go at it ...this was about 5 or 6 years ago.It's an Airfix kit in 1/24 scale needed much work but I had fun and hence turned to car modelling from ship modeling. Hope you like it Louis
  7. Gloss Enamel Black as a base ...then AK metal finishes.....a couple of days to dry then gentle hand polish with a micro fibre cloth......once again thanks for your comments....Best regards. Louis

Hi Noel yes that's the one and other was a Seaplane base in Malta ...I am attaching two pics of the dios 1/72 scale ...Yes some guys are going up ...wish I could go with them but alas my legs fail me I'm gonna be 75 in 3 weeks time ..... Morning Noel ...yep that's us we've been going to the IPMS Nationals since they were first held in Donnington....I won best in show twice in 1995 and 1998 with two dioramas about wartime Malta ....They are now at The Aviation Museum ....Yes Gozo also have their own club and I have a few mates there .....Ah what I would give to own a Pocher....so damn expensive .....too much for my pocket I've got the Italeri one which one fine day I will have a go at it as I want to build it as a conversion ...Thanks for touching base Noel ...If ever you're in Malta send me a message I have a FB page as well ....take care Louis

  13. Ever since I was a kid I was always fascinated by firetrucks and always wanted to become a fireman when I grow up ...Well that didn't work out well .... I worked in Ground Operations aviation at Malta airport and many a time I used to drop by the Fire Section and say hello to my friends the firemen . I built this model a Trumpeter kit in 1/25 scale as a tribute to these brave men who risk their lives frequently in their line of work.... Detailed Interior with many parts built from scratch light included in the cabin ..fire hoses from football boots laces ....Operations console extensively detailed . Dechromed parts and repainted ...Finished in Gravity paints and lacquer .

  16. This the Revell 1/12 scale kit which is quite a monster ...I converted to a custom model after seeing A Kindig presentation on TV how this beautiful machine was customized . I decided that I had to have a go and hence the result...Not an easy build but I enjoyed every minute Suspension moved lowered and modified to accommodate the wide wheels which I put on .....detailed engine and interior Finished in mouse grey using Gravity paints and lacquer. This is a Covid build , so I really put my heart in it having to stay in , a prisoner in my own home ....this is a very old kit...the plastic was very flimsy , so i had to be extra careful handling the kit......detailed engine and firewall...opened passenger door and trunk....detailed interior ...finished in Gravity paints and lacquer

This particular vehicle was sold to a German Obstetrician Dr Fuchs in 1932 who, because of prewar tensions emigrated to New York in 1937 and he took the car with him .This is the third car out of seven built chassis no no41121 and was painted at his own request yellow and black ...It was later found in a scrap yard in 1946 and was restored in 1947 . In 1957 it was donated to the Henry Ford Museum not in its original colours but in oyster white with modifications to the engine .
