  1. Well here is one you don't see very often and has been sitting on my to-build pile for at least 10 years. The Airfix Maserati Boomerang. Very basic kit of a very cool-looking 80's Concept?? I don't believe that a real car was ever built, but my knowledge of Maserati is limited. Anyway, I was looking for something unique and a quick build so here she is. The kit goes together very well except for the door windows which have no real mounting spots so basically drop in figure is out and glue is the approach. The Paint Tropical Glitz Coral Reef is straight out of the can, with 2k Clear also straight from the can. The heat shield is the paper in the cigarette packs, most likely Marlboro, but maybe Camel.
  2. Here is something a bit different, and not something I have seen built before. This is a 1/24 Deck Crane a buddy of mine printed. The Print was pretty cool but was missing a lot of detail. So what I thought was going be a quick easy build turned into a bit more, but I enjoyed the build and love the results. While trying to research this piece of equipment as there is no brand attached to it. I stumbled on a great resource. government auctions, there are a ton of different sites and each has a huge amount of old equipment listed even some brand new. The best part is the huge amount of photos attached to each auction, each of the listings seems to have a min of 25 photos but most seem to have many more. So while this crane is generic I stole lots of ideas including the way the hydraulic hoses route to the winch. I also resized and printed out the safety labels in the cab. I ended up scratch-building the outriggers and the hydro piston. The front and rear were reworked to add the Diamond plate. Once the build was done I decided it needed a bit more life so I added the worker taking his lunch break checking out Insta on his phone.. Some Pizza Coke and a sprite. Dont tell his boss but there is an empty bottle of jack somewhere under the crane
  3. You do understand the difference between the MSRP that a manufacturer puts out and what the item will sell for correct? Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price generally means absolutely nothing unless a Brand requires sellers to use MAP Pricing which Revell does not. You will have to wait for the kit to hit the shelves before you can complain about the price and determine if the price justifies your purchase.
  4. Not my best work but I'm happy this one is complete this was a tough kit It looks so simple but had a lot of issues after assembly that you couldn't get to repair this is a Fujimi Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 I don't know if they've modified this kit a few times and added in the photoetch or what but it was interesting lot of small little pins that didn't want to glue in place and then things didn't fit once they were in place but it's done it's in the display case we move on paint was awesome tropical glitz as always this one is lilac blast
  5. Thanks it was a tough build but happy with the results
  6. Just wrapped this up this was a long project. I started off with the A&N Model Trucks Freightliner cab and the Revell KW wrecker. The wrecker body was modified and tool cabinets were added I also drilled out the controls and replaced it with new orange pins. The front bumper is from another Italeri wrecker. The fuel tank is an aluminum part from Jamie Rahmoeller the paint is Raspberry mousse and granite from Tropical Glitz
