  1. A beautiful piece of work. Really like the detail. If I had the imagination and were so talented... Win
  2. Man, what a mind boggler. As C.W. McCall would say "a can worms and maleria germs" Win
  3. True story...the '48 Lincoln is the one I had problems with and finally trashed it. In Minicraft it was the Morgan 3 wheeler.
  4. Thanks for the info. That's what I was wanting to know about Lindberg. I have the Dodge Li'l Red Express (AMT) coming from eBay, which, I got for a decent price ($8.00) but see some Li'l Red Wagons on eBay by Lindberg but a little pricey after they have been up for awhile. Take care, Win
  5. I didn't know that Lindberg did an "overhaul". I had some bad luck with a couple of their car models at one time and haven't bought any since. They were really bad. Had the same experience with Minicraft. Does Lindberg put out any truck models and if they do, would it be worth while to get them? Catch you later, Win
  6. I was told today by a LHS owner, that AMT sold but who to he wasn't sure. Anyone hear anything on this? Whatever spins their crank, I guess. Win
  7. Thanks Dan and Jeff, for your input. I think I'll stick to what I've been using...Tamiya, etc and Jeff had suggested Createx so might try that. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Catch ya later, Win
  8. Hi Jeff, Yep, 'tis me, still hangin' around trying to get through the winter. The Tole paints that I'm familiar with are the ones that people (such as my wife) use in Tole painting on wood. Tole isn't a brand of paint but a craft, called Tole painting, that uses acrylic paint and the paint can be bought at any craft store (JoAnn and Michael's for two) that deals in them. DecoArt and Americana are probably the two most popular brands. I'm going to go into the site that you sent me and check it out 'cause I get tired of mixing and thinning etc too. Take care, Win
  9. Has anyone ever used Tole paints for painting a build? They are acrylic and can be thinned with water but in reading on them they shouldn't be thinned with more than 30% water and I'm guessing that it could be shot through an airbrush. Also the article on acrylic paint (in Wikipedia) said the paints would be hard to remove if a job was messed up. There are so many different colors in Tole paints that it would be great if they could be used. I have also used, one time, the water based paints that can be had at an auto paint store with pretty good luck. They require a clear coat but so do a lot of Tamiya etc. paints and I'm sure the Tole paints would too, but that's not a big deal. The article didn't say if Tole paint was compatible with plastic but I would think that would be. Color me curious. Take care, Win
  10. The website is www.hankspictures.com It's a good reference site for modelers and if nothing else, to see long gone trucks and companies.
  11. I have a picture of a '77 IHC cabover that I owned at one time. If I could figure out how to put a picture in these topics I would send it to you. It's kind of pretty...silver and light purple. In fact it's the same colors that are on the Freightliner in my avitar picture but not the same scheme. Freightliner called it Plum Purple.
  12. Try www.hankspictures.com There's probably any truck picture there that was ever made. The trucks are seperated by makes also. If you have any problems getting the site let me know.
  13. Thanks for the tip on super glue. I don't like to use it anyway as we don't get along very well.
  14. OK...I have seen Future on the shelves but had forgotten about it. I went into the article about Future and learned a lot and thank you for it. That's a sassy looking '55 Ford and I sure do like the color and lookin' good. Looks like your cats have a rough life and are "at the ready".lol Thanks again all of you for your help.
  15. Thanks for the tip...I'll try (almost) anything once. My main problem is that I don't know what Future is except you said it's a clear coat. Is it something I would buy at my LHS. Guess I'm a little slow from driving truck a lot of years.lol
  16. Tim, A quick question. You say hold the glass them the inside, then stick the tape etc. I'm not quite following you. Do you mean hold the glass from the inside? If the glass is mounted from the inside do you put the tape on the outside to hold it? If so, it makes sense to me then I can flow the glue completly around the glass. Please bear with me on this one. Thanks, Win
  17. Hey guys...thanks a lot. Your tips will help me a lot and hopefully now I will be less frustrated when doing the "glass" bit. I'll make sure I have the water or alcohol at the ready.
  18. Thanks for the responses. Can the Micro Krystal Klear or Elmers be applied to the paint where the windshield is to be installed and do you have a special way of installing? Where I run into trouble is trying to get the windshield or whatever into position without getting any glue on it and holding it there until the glue at least dries enough to hold the piece in place. Maybe this is a roll of the dice. I never thought about trying to clean up with water on the clear Testors that I have so I'll test the Testors. One of those brain lock downs.
  19. I need some help and advice on what are some ways to install (glue in) windshields etc. I have used clear out of a bottle, glue, which works OK but have to scrape paint so it will stick, and I really don't like to do this. Have also used Testors clear parts cement. I have had some good luck but have also had some bad luck. It seems like my worst problem is getting a tiny bit of whatever I'm using to glue it in, gets on the "glass" and that's all she wrote but that's operator error. Hopefully someone out there can help me. Thanks.
  20. I built the Grave Digger last year but I don't remeber who made it as I don't keep boxes of models I build. I have seen several monster trucks in different model suppliers websites. Almost all of them carry Lindberg if that's what you specifically want and there are a lot of suppliers out there in cyber space. I have used some of them and have never had any problem with any of them. Good luck.
  21. I don't know of any casters but the 1/25 Revell Germany kit (RVL-7549) Australian KW that I built had a Cat 3408 in it. Problem is that you would have to buy the kit to get the engine but the kits are available.
  22. Hi Chris Yes, I live in Ogden, Utah
  23. Kurt, I have 4 chrome rims but not from a Cruise Liner kit. They are for the outside duals but I don't have the rings or axle hubs but these have the solid center with the hubs moulded in and are 25/32 in diameter. I'm brand new to this forum so I don't know how to enter a picture. You are welcome to have them at no charge if you think they would work. All I need is your mailing address. Let me know
