Its been hard to get back into model building since we got back from Georgia, I guess its the state my house is in right now, as in messy. I just dont have the energy or the time to clean up right now. By the time I get home I'm exhausted, then we have to get dinner going, feed the kid, get him a bath and put to bed and for those of you with children you know that that can be a job within itself. I just hope that I can get back into it soon. I have all those kits to finish/do. Well its time for bed for me. Later

The Question Is Not What He Bought,
Clay replied to Raul_Perez's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It was a sign... I got 4 emails telling me that you posted on this Raul. You're right George, I dont need boots, I can use my teeth -
All your trim can be done in Bare metal foil (BMF), a pain in the a** but it looks so good when done. Here are a few pics to show you, As for the lettering do the BMF before you paint and then carefully sand off the paint with a light sandpaper As for re-painting I suggest going to walmart and go to the automotive section and look for something called Super Clean and strip it. Wear gloves when working with it. Heres what you do, get a tupperware container (old one so you dont piss off the wife) and fill it with the SC and put the body in it over night or however long you feel like. If this is a practice body and you dont care, by the Blue Painters tape for Wal-mart or Target and use that, regular tape doesnt work for that.

OK how would you cut the glass to fit after you chop it?

Michael's Coupon And Reset
Clay replied to crispy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know, but I use one and then my wife uses one . I don't plan on useing them all cause I dont plan on wasting my gas to drive 45 minutes away 5 times What chris is saying is to look for a redo of Michaels Model section, not that it is going away like walmart did with theirs, Besides Michaels is a hobby store, and it wouldnt be much of one if it didnt have models. -
Michael's Coupon And Reset
Clay replied to crispy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I got about 5 of them along with AC Moore coupons (also 50% off), which Michaels accepts. Its awesome getting papers at 10:00 at night, you can grab as many as you want. -

Floor Polish Question.(future?)
Clay replied to HotRodaSaurus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Here is some work with Future. It also can be used as an undercoating before you paint. -
I should have looked for it at HL when I went yesterday. I looked at Hobbytown USA but I didnt see any model car magazines.

Jada Bigtime Muscle Corvette Z06 *pic Intensive*
Clay replied to crispy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
You know I saw these Jada kits at HL today, I was reluctant to get them because the plastic was off of them, however I think the kits that I have seen so far are pretty good. -
See I told you that thing would look good when finished, I got 2 sitting on my shelf waiting, a convertible and a hard top. I hope they come out as good as yours.

The Question Is Not What He Bought,
Clay replied to Raul_Perez's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ok so we were getting in the car to come back to my mom's house fromHobby Lobby (will post what I got in a bit), I told Ani to drive, she said "Oh i know what you want to do" Open my models and see what came with them. I said "I dont have an Xacto blade this time" So what does she do? She hands me the pocket knife in the center console!!!!!!!!!! Ok you guys can stop laughing, especially you Raul!! And Raul we are here for the weekend spending it with my Mom, and we have a "reunion" to go to. -
Well I got a little BMF done on it, I still got the left and back windows and the rear fins on the car to do, and I am gonna try to do the emblems. I did find an engine that I would like to use with it instead of the stock. If anyone could tell me what engine that is it would be greatly appreciated.

Kool, I have seen those on eBay, just never built one. I don't mind, just let me finish my current Studebaker That thing is sick!!!!!! You know they make a resin kit for that?
-
Well since I missed the whole left side of the top and its drying now, all I got to do is play with this: You older guys might remember this toy. Anyway, I can't decide the interior style I want. We got the buckets with the floor console and shifter in the front and the buckets in the back. or Bench in the front with column shift, and a bench in the back. or A single bucket, with nothing else (drag interior) reminder not doing the drag car.

This is with out primer I have had to sppray primer for the enamel, yellow is terrible as well as the orange, it just doesnt look right.
-
Never mind, turns out all it is, is glitter in a spray can. So I painted the whole thing blue I hope to get some BMF done before I take off for the weekend
-
From what I've been told you don't need to primer unless you've done some body work. But it does look good.

Well here you go Raul, you and your wife look at this. The top will hopefully be HOK snow white pearl. I wonder if this laquer clearcoat with mess up HOK? I will have to try it on a piece of plastic.......
