It had decals on it but they came off before I took these pictures, and when you are on a budget and only have a few colors you tend to use the same color on many models. I have maybe four with that color.
  2. That looks pretty good, I didnt even notice the change. I am working on a 53 Starliner Coupe. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...c=10962&hl=
  3. Ok you guys got me wanting to build another one so here it is. Its gonna be Testors Laquer GTS Blue Pearl, I am gonna try to do the overspray that Bill has talked about before, I'm prettys sure I should paint the chassis first before doing this though. I will be using the stock engine, it also comes with a double blown Hemi, I will build them both cause I intend on using the hemi in another build soon.
  4. Lets see some of your Master work Bill!!! Whats the 57 chevy part of it? That thing is awesome, however I dont think Ani's dad would like that as a 1:1, he is a purest when it comes to Studebakers and Volkswagens. Well lets get cracking on it Curt!!!!! You got any more of that Monster? Where did you get the body and what donor kit did you use?
  5. Resourceful Marines Our Major did not have a jeep to ride around in and we, being resourceful Marines, decided to change that. Our compound was next door to an Army compound which made it very convenient. As you all know, jeeps did not have keys, just a switch that added to the convenience of our plan. One night, an Army jeep, for some unknown reason, disappeared. The next day, members of the comm platoon , having found some Marine Corps green paint, made a beautiful job of transitioning the Army transportation into Marine transportation. Now we had to get some markings. Fortunately, we had a person that made records for the vehicle back a few years and we were in business. We were so proud of ourselves. God almighty, those were the days. Names withheld and all associations withheld due to statute of limitations Sgt. Grit Newsletter.

    Then And Now

Thanks Raul I think I will need that kit, let me know if you what kit of mine you want and we can trade. Here are some progress pics from this morning. Shot some dullcoat on the interior. The Chassis was a pain to get in the body. The engine looks good in it for as little detail as it has Got the wheels and tires on. The front is too far back.
  17. Man sometimes I wish I was still in California so I could meet you guys.

    69 Yenko Camaro

I might need the whole kit if you have them. I think its a style I need.

    Then And Now

Well here is some progress on the 06 Camaro. The kit is fairly easy, comes with big and little tires and rims. A not so detailed engine and chassis. So far the best part about this kit is the body. the finished chassis Not so detailed engine the Interior the front, man this thing looks mean. And the finished engine.
  20. Ok I have either done or been apart of all of these 1. Watch South park when I'm supposed to be working. 20. Must not taunt the French any more. 28. Don't take the batteries out of the other soldiers alarm clocks (Even if they do hit snooze about forty times). 33. Not allowed to chew gum at formation, unless I brought enough for everybody. 34. (Next day) Not allowed to chew gum at formation even if I did bring enough for everybody. 46. I am not authorized to fire officers. 53. Not allowed to quote 'Full Metal Jacket ' at the rifle range. 57. The proper response to a lawful order is not 'Why?' 84. Must not use military vehicles to ‘squish' things. 101. I am not allowed to mount a bayonet on a crew-served weapon. 102. Rodents are not entitled to burial with full military honors. 103. My commander is not old enough to have fought in the civil war, and I should stop implying that he did. 120. An EO briefing is probably not the best place to unveil my newest off color joke. 150. On Sports Day PT, a wedgie is not considered a legal tackle. 152. The following items to not exist: Keys to the Drop Zone, A box of grid squares, blinker fluid, winter air for tires, canopy lights, Chem-Light batteries, or keys to HMMWVs, and I am not allowed to send anyone looking for them. 153. I should not assign new privates to 'guard the flight line'. 177. I am not to refer to a formation as "the boxy rectangle thingie". 184. When operating a military vehicle I may not attempt something "I saw in a cartoon". 187. Must not taunt officers in the throes of nicotine withdrawal with cigarettes. 188. May not challenge officers to "Meet me on the field of honor, at dawn". 195. Shouldn't use Photoshop to create incriminating photos of my chain of command. 205. Don't write up false gigs on a HMMWV PMCS. ("Broken clutch pedal", "Number three turbine has frequent flame-outs", "flux capacitor emits loud whine when engaged")

  25. Hi, My name is Clay Jones, I am married to a wonderful wife, Ani, who occasionally lets me get a model here and there. I have a son, David, who I hope will get into this so he can build with his old man, I have a daughter on the way, Amelia. No plans for her yet . I have in the United States Marine Corps for almost 6 years, July 22 will be my 6 year mark and another pay raise , I have made it to the best rank, Sergeant, now I can tell those little pissants at the gates the "blank" off . I have been into models off and on for as long as I can remember, I am only 24 but my memory is shot along with my body. I build mostly 1:25, because thats all I have been exposed to. I am into muscle cars, trucks, and really anything, and yes I have even built a NASCAR here and there. Well i have taken too much of this topic. Back to building.
