well Gents, thank you for all the detailed advice so far.πi raided the 65 dodge awb kit for the Hemi,Dana diff and related parts for a cross ram or injected hemi/4spd regular wb match racer.looking forward.π

I really like 383 magnum engines..small block revs with big block torque...banging gears and fun..hemis are good for speed..440s are good for street..at least in the old days..π. i built a crazy chev 283 for kicks many years ago,4 inch bore with a stock283 forged crank..302 cubes i think..would rev to 8 g's in seconds and rip tires.old nova if i remember correctly..thats my fun..π

cheers.i like a cool looking barely steet legal type of car like i used to drive in my youth.sure, factory this and that is fun..but those rare cars were just that..rare back then and unobtanium today for regular folk .so i'll build a clone and beat the bejesus out of it,rebuild and do it again, while all the collector guys stare and drool over their trailer queens...πlife's too short..my brother's 70 Dart Swinger with a 440 six pack is true testament to A body developement..π

very cool.i loved the factory bare bones no frills big block 4speed format the 383 magnum option offered.mine had black interior/bucket seats, which i think were a bit heavier than the bench seat..radio delete,no console, blah blah blah.basic friday night fun.π

fair enough.thank you.πmy Moebius 65 belvedere 1 kit in the pic above has a Max wedge cross ram engine build option which isn't in the satelitte kit,so i thought i would play along..i know hemi is king but they get a bit boring in model form for me after a while..unless it's supercharged or has finned valve covers,etc..something a bit more visual.i see you are a 69/70 GTX fan.i had a blue/green 69 roadrunner-383 4speed,pop out side window car.back in the '80s,bought it cheap, beat it,broke it and moved on..loved that car.π.the 69 GTX has always been a favourite..cheers.

i was thinking hemi, but i think i want to keep the coronet awb kit intact for now..i think i will go with the crossram max wedge engine, drag wheels and slicks, so ss/ class.we'll see how it progresses.π

hello gents ,starting a new project.a pre altered wheel base factory a/fx being i missed the golden commandos kit i will use the strickler dodge for the engine/front end, differential and other race parts.just scored a NOS plymouth satelitte kit.the belvedere 1 kit has various speed parts as well..these moebius kits are pretty cool with all the extras..i love unaltered afx cars like thunderbolts,65 falcons,65 comets etc..so that is what sparked this buildup.not sure if i'll use factory sponsor/raceteam decals yet will see how it progresses.first i'll make all the parts fit, then paint etc..will keep you posted..π

When a person goes in and buys a brand new vehicle off the dealer lot, then he goes to his local aftermarket(or dealer)/speed shop and buys custom wheels, speed add ons like headers, racing stripes, bigger camshaft/carb etc, these are regarded as day 2 modifications, -

absolutely, these and the 67-72 chev/gmc trucks, owned a few of each over the years, fine trucks.π thank you.tough trucks and easy to work on.π I started with the Moebius 68 Mercury kit and added frame and suspension/drivetrain from the Moebius 1970 f100 4x4 kit.I am using the AMT66 Fairlane GT/Comet FE 390/427 engine as I find it more accurate visually than the Moebius truck engine, especially the intake manifold.AMT did a good job replicating these FE engines.AMT's 1960 Starliner offers a fine FE replica engine also, both in dual 4' and tri-power induction.. -
thank you.i just sprayed the body/fenders with ford light jade metallic.π
