I'm redoing my 1:32 Scalextric slot car track and just found this site. It's currently just a basic track on 3/8" OSB that is on a 2x4 frame. I put that short artificial turf down around all the track. It's 16'x7' and has fold down legs that are curved at the back so I can tilt it up when we're finished racing so I can get the cars in the garage. The problem is as I get older this thing gets heavier. I'm starting a project to rebuild it using steel drywall studs and foam board. I think I've got the basic issues solved and am now looking at doing a much more landscaped track. 

Your track looks great, I saw photos you posted on a thread about sculptamold. Would you have a shot of the whole track? From what I saw in the individual pictures I've got a ton of questions about how you did your landscaping.
