Gotta say real.
-
Beautiful work, great imagination as well!
-
Nice car, I've done a few of those but never as a straight up custom.
-
Cool idea and a great build!
As a recovering aircraft builder though I have to point out that the downed Mustang would've more likely had a Packard-built Rolls Royce Merlin. Maybe the Allison came out of downed a P-38!
You are correct sir, A P-38 would be a more likely donor. That or an early Mustang/Apache or P-40 although I'm not sure how much service the P-40 saw in Europe.

So that's where the missing 7th Bugatti Royale went to!!
That and a Mercedes SSK, Theres some good stuff in those two kits.
-
Thanks guys, I'm still working on some of the details like headlights but it's close enough to share.
-
I haven't posted anything new in a while and as is typical for me it's only about 90% done, I just couldn't wait to post it.
I'm not even sure what to classify it as but it's name fits. The idea is that the car was born out of the ashes of post war Germany and built from the remains of what could be found which obviously included the Allison V-12 from a downed P-51 Mustang.
It's built in similar fashion to the old prewar hillclimbers.

Oh yeah!!! Gotta love those old Potvin blowers!! The magneto looks good under the hood, too!!
Awesome car, I did one with a scratch built Potvin on a Boss 429 a little while back and I've got that engine pack just waiting for future projects,
-
thanks guys
ill try the cropping thing some more after work today
Nice job on the car, There are actually quite a few 1:1 V8 Foci running around out there incuding one with a full 2003 CObra drivetrain and in excess of 500 whp.

Gotta go against the grain and say real.

Great looking car!!
Apparently the Boss 429 is a natural in an old Stude. Heres mine, Ultra sleeper with a front mounted blower on the Boss.
-
Really tough choice but I think it's this one,
-
mine is this one.
Lancia Flamina but I'm not sure what year.
-
G,day , I'm goin with model as the tyre's dont seem to fit the rims properly .
It's called "stretch" it's really popular with the VW tuning crowd and it's been spreading to other groups as well.
As soon as I saw the stretch I knew it was real.

Audi 5000?
-
Beautiful job on what I think is the sexiest Ferrari ever built.
-
Iz that a Drake designed engine? BTW Art, what's tha car and who's tha driver?
Looks like Fangio in a Novi Indy special, 1958 or so?
-
Yeah already IDed it a long time ago.
It not a Kurtis.
I didn't read each post but I didn't see the pic quoted anywhere, What was the answer?
-
The other one is up but I want to see if any of you can get this,
and Chris I swear to god!
Wouldn't the proper name be "Speedwell Sprite"?
-
hey nick.
the top one is a 1972 clan crusader 875cc coupe. based on a mini.
the black and white one i am still working on. it looks like a prototype for some sort of lotus elan sedan; however, the badge does not look right. i will keep looking into it.
how about this rare little racer?
I believe that would be a Kurtis sports racer, It's American
-
Looks cool, Does it have an engine or is it curbside?
I'm also wondering who makes the kit, looks interesting.
