Another one thats beautiful. This is what a real one would look like if I'd own one, and I can't beileve you didn't have the money, I know I would have bought that in less than a heartbeat.
I ran across that car when I was about 17 and carless myself, I was actually driving a '76 Mustang Ghia borrowed from my sister when I ran across the Wildcat at a gas station one night.
Never saw it again.
You want a real sad story?
I also had the chance to buy a '57 Chevy 210 two door, someone had started rodding it and never finished, It had black tuck and roll interior, Ford 9" rear and a fiberglass flip front end with a blown up small block Chevy in it.
The price I couldn't afford on that one? $700.00.

Thank You, These cars are relatively rare in 1:1 nowadays but I've seen a few and they really are cool looking cars.
Long and lean and most were powered by 401 inch Nailheads.
I missed out on one when I was much younger,it was the Wildcat version with a 401 4-speed. Talk about rare. Unforutunately I didn't have the $500.00 asking price at the time.

Hide the women and kids!!!!!!!!
They can run but they can't hide especially the women
-
Heres another of my kitbashed specials,It started life as the AMT '62 Electra 225.
The Nailhead is from the '66 Riv lowrider kit and the rest of the mods are from the parts bin.
This was also my first and so far only attempt at BMF, I have to say I don't really have the patience for it. Some of the trim is BMF and some is hand painted (which I don't have much patience for either)

I've used most of that stuff and I picked up some of the black beading line in two sizes yesterday.
I just really liked the stuff I used on the build with that Hemi due to it's appearance, It looks "right" to me.
I suppose I could try weathering some of the other stuff, I don't care for the shiny appearance of most of the stuff I've found.
Some great alternate ideas guys.

Fantastic work, It looks amazing!

FORDSVTPARTS,
Amen to that. My '02 SVT Focus is probably the favorite car I've owned-it might even beat out the Miatas I've had! I love the European package wheels on yours. What suspension mods have you done?
I've done a fair amount of stuff to it, I'm running the Ford Racing Dynamic suspension which is produced by Multimatic (same people that build the FR500C Mustangs).
Handles really well, a nice step up from the already exceptional stock suspension.
Have you gotten a custom tune for yours? It makes an amazing difference in the car.
I've also done,
Stage 2 ported throttle body
Urethane inserts in the rear engine mount
Wrapped the header
Home built semi cold air intake
Borla exhaust
Etc,Etc,Etc.
BTW-I didn't browse the entire thread, did you post pics of yours?
-
Love those movies. Every one of your models you posted so far, there is none that I didn't like, this one is just neat!
Thanks, I'm obviously new to this site and I wanted to show my work gradually.
I'm no where near as good as a lot of the guys here but I do my best.

FORDSVTPARTS, Ever see the movie Hot rod, yours kinda resembles the Willys found in a salvage yr. that the "main charater[?] puts his Hemi in after crashing his Plymouth. The car change alot though out but is always primered. Good lookin build.
I saw part of that movie years ago and I do remember the car, I've always loved cars like this.
The Two lane blacktop Chevy was another one of my childhood (and adult) favorites.
Thanks for the comments.

I know you can buy this kind of stuff in little 3 foot packages at hobby stores but I have a real problem paying $4.00 for $.02 worth of tubing.
I also hate paying $4.00 for 3 feet of spark plug wiring but I can't find anything locally thats a proper size or color in bulk.
Heres a pic of some that I found but for the life of me I don't remember where it came from, I know I didn't buy it. So I must have found it in a kit or a kids toy or something.
It's a nice size and has a relatively flat finish and it's exceptionally soft and flexible. Anyone seen anything like this anywhere?
I'd prefer to buy it in a regular roll but I have no idea where to look.

Upon closer inspection, I spy a supercharger in there, nice job of hiding it.
Thanks, Just in case anyones wondering there is a radiator mounted on the passenger side of the blower it's just hard to see.

My current ride,
2002 SVT Focus, Bolt on mods and suspension along with some minor exterior cleanup mods.
This car is the most fun to drive of anything I've ever owned and that is one long list of cars.
My last muscle car, Sold long before I had a digital camera.
1969 Skylark, built 455, built TH400, 3.36 12 bolt posi. All work done by yours truly.

This is a total parts bin special, thrown together from spare parts.
Would you be nervous if you ran up against this on the street?
How about now,
This view gives a little more away,
If you could see this it may make you nervous,
The body is from the "Double Whammy" kit, The Boss 429 mill is from the Boss Mustang 2 in 1 and the rest is from the parts bin and my imagination.
I'm guessing a Boss 429 with a crank driven blower in a car that looks like this may embarrass many unsuspecting shiny cars.
-
Very nice work.

I saw a car like this on "Byrons Gasser madness" and fell in love with it, Mines not an exact copy but built on the same theme.
Thrown together out of several different cars with a blown, injected Hemi for good measure.
The Junyard dog,

Wow, thanks for the praise.
I was inspired by a friend of my fathers that has a 1:1 '49 Cadillac built like this for the Carrera re-enactments they've been running for a while now.
Go to Youtube and type in "La Carrera PanAmericana" and you'll find some amazing video.
Heres one of my favorites, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kM-tdt_0Sc&NR=1
Those guys don't fool around, There more great stuff on the race website http://www.lacarrerapanamericana.com.mx/

That is beautiful, I've seen real ones at Road America. They're huge.
Is that kit out of production or can it still be found?
-
Here's my take on the '49 Merc. It's a "Carrera PanAmericana" racer for the modern running of the event. I figured I should post this one so it didn't look like I only build '32 Fords.
It's the Revell '49 with the suspension and drivetrain out of a Winston cup stock car, Can you say 700 hp Merc road burner?
Decal set is from the '53 Corvette 2 in 1.

that is one mean look'n 32....i luv it....try more light and a different background when u shooting the pix cant really appreciate the color....just a suggestion....neal
I took a bunch of pics of all my builds recently because I had access to a decent digital camera, You are correct about the background I do need something better.
Thanks for the feedback.

Beautiful work, Very clean.
-
Thanks for the nice comments guys, I try new stuff all the time and this is probably my favorite build yet.
I wanted it to look old but not have it look like someone found the body out in a field and threw it on a modern frame to make a "Rat" out of it.
I wanted the "found in a garage under a bunch of old junk look, Like it was locked away in the late '60's and brought back to life.
I've got a '29 pickup in the works next and I have no idea what will happen with that one yet.
-
I love Rat rods but I've been seeing a trend in real rods towards real old rods that are being dug out of storage and brought back to life. Thats what I imagined for this car.
'32 Ford sedan, started as the Switchers kit. I chopped it, channeled the front a bit and left the rear high for attitude.
Fabricated a suicide mount with a big drop up front and dropped in a parts bin Hemi, The wheels are from the "Boss Nova" drag car. The headlights are made out of 1/72 scale Messershmitt drop tanks.
The car is painted with Model Masters flat medium green and buffed out with a common kitchen scrub pad and given a wash of black.

That looks like something satan himself would cruise up in, but I love it!
Thanks, I never thought of it like that but I think your description pretty much nailed it.

Hey all, I just found the site and I've got a few finished cars to post but I'll do one at a time.
This '32 five window was my first chop, I know it's not perfect but I think it looks pretty mean.
Motivation is provided by a Studebaker V8 with triple Strombergs.
