  1. Very cool project. I look forward to seeing your progress. I have to admit as well that as a child I wouldn't have been caught dead near one of these cars. But now there's just something about them, be it a quirkiness or something about how infrequently I see them anymore. At any rate, I always enjoy seeing them nicely restored (and improved).
  2. I've used it before, it works pretty well for masking irregular surfaces. I also use it for holding small parts when painting, it usually has just enough grip, but separates from the part easily when finished.
  3. That's a Ford Capri, although I was going to say Jensen Interceptor, but for the c-pillar finish. As for the Taro, it is kind of a weird relationship they put together. I wish I could get a small one-ton pickup like that though. It sure would be useful. Maybe I can buy it in pieces.
  4. I found it! It's the Taro. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Taro Oh, morning research hurts the brain.

That is one cool looking custom!
  6. Actually, that's a VW badged Toyota. I believe VW and Toyota have an agreement in some markets to sell Toyota trucks on the VW banner. I recall a rather extensive post about this over at the Motive forum (aka "The Car Lounge").
  7. The little 904 is inspiring, I took that one on myself and definitely did not do it the justice your friend did there. It almost makes me want to take another try with that kit... almost being the operative word there.
  8. That is a fantastic base!
  9. Excellent build, I definitely like it. Cool subject too.
  10. Very nice, I like them both, although I must say the big V8 in the stock '55 has a very definite appeal. I really like the paint choices. I'm still a bit intimidated by 2-tone jobs like that, I need to get over that.
  11. Well thank you all for the kind words. I actually really like this one more than most I've completed recently. It just seemed to "work" and though there are definitely some areas I'd do differently overall I'm quite pleased. We'll see if I can get anything else done before yardwork season begins again.
  12. I figured for a first post I'd show off something I just finished. So, here's a '55 Nomad that just joined the rest in the "case." I'm actually rather pleased with this one, albeit it still shows my need for more practice and patience. My only real contributions to this kit was the application of the wheels, which required a bit of a re-think on the front end and tubbing in the rear; a little tinting of the glass, I pirated an LT1 with some form of supercharger out of a Camaro kit I had laying around, and then a few of the Kustom parts that came along with the kit including the Lucas style headlamps. Thanks for looking.
