  4. I have had the car finished for about three weeks now. Between two shows and a death in my wife's family, I just simply have'nt had the time to post the pics. I have misplaced my camera after a show saturday and cannot locate it. I borrowed these pics from a friend of mine's album from the last show we attended. So far the car has taken a top 15 at birmingham and first in closed wheel competetion in cookeville tn. I hope you all like it, and when I locate my camera, I will take some more pics and add them to the post. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask and I will answer them. Chris
  5. This is something I built for a friend of mine for his little girl's room. A box stock 2003 monte carlo kit decals are alps printed. The water decals were put on the body then cleared over. Chris
  6. This is a car that steve park drove back in 1996. This car I believe was only driven one time. The actual race car, the number and stripes were chevy red, not just plain red.The actual car also did not have the racing reflections decals, I just added them to dress it up a little more. I had an alps set of decals that were the correct color. They were done a very long time ago by a decal maker who is no longer aorund. The decals were not coated, and I was'nt aware that they were not. I had the car decalled, and waxed it, the colors rubbed off, so I had to redo the car. The decals are a combination of alps, wetworks, slixx, and powerslide. I have to thank matt mcnally for the hood decal. It came from a wetworks sheet. I had to cut a piece of decal film and spray it silver to lay under it to get the silver color. Chris
  7. Dave, Thanks for the info on the stand and the pics. I really appreciate it. Chris
  8. Dave, I also have a question for you if you don't mind. The stands that you make and use for your detailed builds. Do you have any sizes or measurments that you might pass along. I would like to make one myself to use to take pics with. Chris
  9. Dave, That si simply amazing, very beautiful work. Chris kauffman
  10. Thank you all once again for the compliments,They are appreciated. Promod, The best suggestions I can give. Get good refrence pics of your subject, and of course take your time.I have seen several diffrent builds of this car. Some used metallic paint and I went another route. The refrence pics I had were from daytona, and the car just did'nt look metallic to me. The early preview shots of the car were, but my pics did'nt look that way. I used solvaset to soften the decals and get them down. If you don't mind a suggestions/plug if you have'nt gotten a body go to jnsresin.com for your toyota body. You'll need to use an '06/07 monte carlo kit for the front, rear and passenger side windowThe rear quarters will need to be made from sheet styrene..The JNS body was made from a monte carlo body, and mastered by thad brooks. My car has a ford engine in it. They looked close enough to the refrence shots I could find of the toyota engine, so I went with it for just a shelf car. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

  17. I finished this car a little over a year ago, and it has been in the hands of it's owner for sometime now. Before I post any pics of this car I want to take the time to tell several people thank you!!!!! I want to thank jeff marsh first off. Jeff has been the biggest inspiration as far as my detailing builds. Jeff has pushed me to go further than even I thought I could, thank you my friend I owe you. I also want to give a huge thank Dave t and Clay kemp. Without your works in progress, It would'nt have been possible. Thank both of you for everything you have done for our hobby. The last of the people I want to thank are Clutch coomer, thank you for the help with the headers my friend, without you the car would have been lost. You are one hell of a builder and fabricator, keep it up.Don't be so hard on yourself either. John Snider, without you this car would'nt have even been possible. I have told you before thank you for allowing me to do this john. This car has a huge list of detail added to it. I will hit what I can remember, but I know I can't get it all. I will have all the W.I.P. pics in my photobucket album in a few days. detail master a/n ncompression fittings a/n combination fittings a/n adapter fittings braided line ignition wire battery cables ignition coils model car garage dale sr no bull set window clips hood hinges dash board gauge panel four speed muncie tranny ross gibson dodge nascar engine modern motorsports in line fuel filters power steering resivoir remote oil filter dash recess koolbox arowhead aluminum nascar detailing set fire supression system rear springs freds resins carb ignition boxes southern motorsports hobbies 2005 dodge charger body scratchbuilt items shocks front and rear bumper braces aluminum crush panels in front and rear (embossing metall) headers (by clutch coomer) roof and cowl flaps side skirts I know there is alot more. 18. This is another recently finished car. This is martin truex jr's bass pro shops 2007 monte carlo. It is a revell kit the paint is house of color base coat black with two part clear. The decals are from powerslide, other than that it's a box stock kit. I did speedway the nose on this one has well. Sorry for the pics, the car did not want to photo well at all, and these are the best they got. Chris kauffman
  19. This is the first time I have ever posted any work here, so please be gentle. This is David reutimen's domino's toyota from 2007. The body is a resin piece from JNS resins, and the decals are from powerslide. I converted the nose into a speedway car from it's original configuration. I just like the looks of the speedway cars alot better. The paint is krylon tru blue gloss sprayed over a white base. I sprayed it into an airbrush bottle then airbrushed on. Then shot it with two part automotive clear. The wheels are shot with alclad chrome then polished out. Thanks for looking, Chris kauffman
  20. Dave, Beautiful as always. The grill work is the best I have ever seen. Chris kauffman
