It's a Stude Commander Land Cruiser

Bernadette Peters?

Um, we mean yea, Zeb. You have the record. No sense in milkin it anymore 'cause you are some sort of car encyclopedia! And the undisputed king of finding photos of whack rides.

I'm going to say the 1/8 kits that came back in the last couple of years. The Big Deuce and Big T were too expensive when I was a kid. I received Lindberg's Big Red Rod for what must have been my 10th birthday in the 60's. It's great to have all three now. I've got the new Big Red Rod in a holding pattern at about 80% complete. The others are still boxed. I built a twin-engine Exterminator. These guys take up a lot of space.
I did harbor a strange fascination for the Tom Daniels stuff and would love to see the rest come back. The Beer Wagon and Garbage Truck are faves. Where's the Tijuana Taxi?
The Lil Coffin, I've done that one three times and have 1 1/2 unbuilts left.
And oddly enough, AMT's Ford C-900 Mail Truck.
I'm sure wantin' a huge percentage of what I'm seeing in here! I've wanted an Uncertain T for decades.

it bursts like a beanbag chair and you throw it away

Scott Kalitta succumbed today to injuries from a horrific crash in Englishtown NJ. His funny car's motor exploded midtrack, chutes released but never caught air and he blasted through the sand trap. Son of legend Connie Kalitta, Top Fuel Champion in '94 and '95, husband, father of two.

One alternative starting point that I've found makes things easier, but increases the cost. I don't do it very often because I'm lazy, but when I have to open stuff I'll buy two kits, cut the openings in 1 body and cut the doors, trunk or whatever from the second body, trimming gradually to fit. After that, just channel Senior Obsessive.

I think the Firedome was a Desoto moniker. H and M used a 354 Red Ram Dodge with 392 heads. The Lil Coffin used a Desoto hemi. The Double Dragster had early Chrysler hemis

I guess I'm a little jaded. I see April on the cover and I know there will be one in there somewhere.

Pennsylvania gots chili beans?

Never! I'm more concerned with the rising costs of everything that we use in this hobby. Kits, paint, even the 1:1 mags I use for reference and inspiration have gone up. I have a pretty large stash of all of the above, but I always need more.

It looks like Nick was just out having the turbo installed. Was that a leftover from a Suzuki GSXR 600 project?
-
is the last name Landau?
-
It looks Mazdaesque, mid 70's. I'm just guessing.
As for the Levacar, I would expect at least a hatch in the bottom to throw out an anchor! I can't help but wonder what ford was thinking. Where are the cars we were promised!?
or toyotish, nice pavers

Oh great, another Holy Grail. I want one! Kit and real. "Designed to go 500 mph, how do you steer it?" How do you steer it!? How do you stop it!!?
Cal, Winding Road is an e-mag that I get gratis, I don't know why. One of the features this month is on the BMW. Where did you see it? I think the car debuted in April.

Lordairgtr, Can you tell me anything else about it? It looks like they used Thunderbird parts. What was under the bodywork?
there is a Mach 1 logo on the vertical stabilizer. Was this the first use of that name?
-
gotcha with a jedi mind trick! it's Al Capp. Another brilliant strip
-
Boink!!! You must have found Winding Road in your inbox too!
with siblings
I guess you're up, Cal
unless I can slide this in, from the "you won't believe it" category

I too, enjoy a good Pearls. I've always been a huge fan of the comics pages. I still see the wisdom in Peanuts and surprisingly remember most of them from the first time around. Pogo was great. Andy Capp was great. But my absolute favorite is Calvin and Hobbes.

In honor of Charlie Jones (random non-sequitor) I will be as generous as possible with my hints. I broke my personal rule about not posting one-offs just because of the effect this car had on my mid-section. It's not a Mclaren. It is stunning. Hint being that it's a one-off.

I can't figure it ou . . . oh wait, it's mine.
NICK, come back it's complete anarchy in here!

I think all of the GM Divisions had a Vette based roadster concept around that time. GM thought they would detract from Corvette sales and glory and the projects were halted. Even in the 80's, the Cad and Buick two-seaters were kept in the Lux category and away from Vette territory.

Wasn't the custom version of the delivery based on Winfield's shop truck? I remember the panel and pinstripe decals from the original that I had.

I think we're caught up. I just found this in my inbox.
Name That Car!
