  1. Since I have (once again) procrastinated and won't be able to order directly from Fred, are there any online retailers that sell his decals? I'm looking for the SC/Rambler sheet in particular. Thanks
  2. Hi all, I'm having trouble finding a pre-wired Vertex (the tall, skinny style) magneto. I've used the Detail Master mag, but trying to shove the 8 wires into that tiny hole in the side of the magneto is a pain. There used to be a couple of places to buy these, but I can't seem to find anymore. Any help would be appreciated, TIA.
  3. I'd forgotten about Perry's, thanks for the reminder. The small Dunlops look promising-I need something to fit the small (13") wheels in the kit. I'm thinking a fairly recent kit (maybe the Beatnik Bandit II) had a small Dunlop tire that may be wide enough for a replacement. This is what's frustrating, the rest of the Datsun kit is really nice, except for the tires...
  4. Hi all, I just bought a set of decals from Penngwen for the Bobby Allison-driven #85 Datsun 510 TranAm car. I'm looking forward to building this except for 1 detail, the less-than-spectacular 2 piece tires. Do any resin-caster produce a tire I could use as a replacement? TIA
  5. Thanks John, I just placed an order for some Piranha decals!
  6. Hi all, I'm in the planning stage of a new project. I was thinking about the engine that's in the new Ala Kart kit. I know the engine in the kit is smaller than a 392. I guess my question is could this engine be used as a "Red Ram" early hemi? I think I have a set of Red Ram valve covers stashed away, but I wanted some outside opinions before going forward with this. TIA
  7. I was hoping to order some decals from Decals by Gooche, but the website is closed. Does anyone have information on whether he's out of the business?
  8. I recognize those parts. Imai made a few Harley-based "hot rod" bikes" a few years ago. I was lucky enough to get a couple from Hobby Link Japan (That's where these pics came from). They're great kits, but, unfortunately, Imai went out of business...
  9. I'd love to see some of the wide 300-series rear tires!
  10. Hi all, I picked up a Johan Rambler Pro Street kit over the weekend. I was under the impression that the kit was based on an AMC musclecar from the late 60s I seem to remember a white car with red and blue striping. My question is how much effort would it take to convert this back to the musclecar version? Are decals available? TIA,
  11. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows whether there's a '32-'34 Ford pickup cab being cast. I have a "crew cab" version from R&R, but would like to build a regular cab. The AMT/Lindberg kits are so scarce these days. Thanks in advance, Bruce Harrison Louisville, KY
  12. Hi all, I was wondering if any resin-casters produce a Crower "8-hole" fuel injection unit? I know there was one in the first Garlits rear-engine dragster kit (MPC?) Also, does anyone produce a set of decals for the Kenz & Leslie 777 "High Country Cougar" funny car? Thanks, this is my first posting in this wonderful forum, thanks Gregg!
