  1. Good grief...I need a chair!
  2. If I'm not playing with 1:1 cars and bikes, I longboard - though I'm regarded by many to be too old for it! Just completed a 26 mile charity marathon around The Goodwood race circuit! I'm off on The Crumball Rally tomorrow and I'm hoping to be brave enough to skate some of Stelvio Pass!!!!!
  3. Oooooh yes! Well spotted. Photographed at probably it's best angle.
  4. Nahhhh...Davrian! An easy one for you as it's the weekend:
  5. Noooo! I hope you're joking as that really is a bad thing to do. Acetone goes straight through the skin and into your bloodstream!
  6. ...and bolted to a Renault 25 gearbox!
  7. Ruined the F1 for me too...not happy!
  8. Oooooooh yeaaaah!
  9. Doh...alright then. It's a Rochdale Olympic (kinda appropriate right now)! More info here: http://www.rochdale-owners-club.co.uk/owners.htm One more for giggles! A wee clue. Same era, same country! I'm sure there must be some of these in America?
  10. There seems to be more reference pics on this car available since I last searched the web a few years back. A bit more info here: http://www.astonmartins.com/racing/lolaam.htm
  11. Shall I put you all out of your misery on this one?! ;-)
  12. Chavved up MK1 Sirocco!
  13. Jenson Interceptor Convertible
  14. Thought I'd check this out as I recalled it being a very dark blue when I saw it at Goodwood. Judging by the British Racing Green Lola next to it I'd say it is blue!
  15. Crikey...no idea what the yellow single seater is. The red Lola is in the John Surtess/David Hobbs scheme (F1Specialties do decals for this one). Not sure how authentic many of the current Historic Series cars are. There's a lot of controversy about T-70s at the moment because one can order a 'new build' Lola using original parts and specs and it's elligible for Historic racing. There seems to be one or more extra Lola's at every Goodwood Revival. I think it was John Strakey that said something to the effect of 'out of the 14 cars Lola originally built only 36 survive' I located the owner of the original Sid Taylor car a few years ago who has owned it since the 70s. Sadly it's been stored away in boxes for many, many years.
  16. John, The book is 'Lola T70 V8 Coupes' by Ian Bamsey. Got mine at Chaters, but don't know if it's still in print. It's a good read but not that many more photos of this particular car. One more colour shot on the cover, a colour rear shot and one more side on in colour. Rather than put them all up here I could scan them for you and send, but can't find a way to PM you here. Yes, both the 'P' and '1' were crooked! If you wanted to go for authenticity with the kit parts you could go for decals from F1Specialties. They do two T-70 sets and I bought the Sid Taylor scheme which I think looks great, though I've still not built mine. I also have a second damaged T-70 that will be roof chopped one day! http://www.f1specialties.com/main/conversions/l70.php I ordered my decals direct and F1S are great to deal with. They also do other options for Tamiya 1/12ths. Don't use the Belgian guy on eBay as his prices are an absolute rip! The kit wheels and engine are correct for the Sid Taylor car (but the tyres should be Goodyear - F1 Specialties do decals for those too). I did a lot of research into this car but never found out much! The Bamsey book has some good pics at the Brands BOAC 500, but the car was often run with grey primer patches all over it. Taylors spyder T-70 is now doing the Historic rounds though and has been often displayed at Goodwood. I got hold of one of the chassis builders at Lola a few years ago that worked on the original cars. From memory he recalled that the chassis' (if painted and not polished) were done in that dove grey that was used on Morry Minors!
  17. Wow...looks like 'The Car' from the movie of the same name!
  18. I was thinking along those lines but the nose is wrong for an M1
  19. LOL! Had to - otherwise you guys will look up old English kitcars!
  20. Indeed it is a kitcar, with 6v VW Beetle headlights. Always wanted one!
  21. Shall I put you all out of your misery on this one?! ;-)
  22. Fiat Abarth 850 Coupe!
