  1. I am not sure what Aoshima could do to help. It looks like just some parts leftover from another build. It would probably be cheapest just to buy another of the Aoshima hilux kits. I have seen them for around 15 to 20 bucks. The missing body, glass, and tires means missing most of the kit - at least the important parts.

Finding another one of those kits would be hard, as I havent seen anyone building this kit locally.

Not sure why you would think Aoshima should send you the replacement parts? Two years and a kit you obviously knew was missing pieces. They probably don't even have anymore in stock.

I would either get another kit or just throw those parts in your parts bin. You could post up in the wanted section or in the swap trade section if you have stuff to trade I am sure someone here has the kit you might be able to trade for it. You could try eBay.

Also the on the workbench section was not the proper place for this.

Sorry about being in the wrong place, as I thought that this section would be appropriate. My apologies then.

  2. Guys,

I bought this kit some time last year (or was it 2 years ago)

    180402_1895587309059_1222865772_32267891_5172273_n.jpg

Pretty decent kit, for US$ 1.50

But the catch was that, this was all that was included ->

    180031_1895590069128_1222865772_32267902_3696133_n.jpg

And the body. Clear parts, manual, and several wheels were NOT included. I've emailed Aoshima about this, but they seemed less than helpful in this matter. Any other way I can get some help for this kit?

  4. Oh gosh

Hey guys, hope some of you guys remember me. :)

I've been through a lot lately, that's why I was missing from the modelling scene for quite some time.

Firstly was that I was at uni, but then I dropped out. Then I got to work, till recently I decided to get back to my studies. And because I will be studying in my hometown, I will have the time to start modelling all over again. :D

So yeah, the place has changed a lot I must say. ;)

Will get back to my cars after Chinese New Year. And yeah, Happy Chinese New Year to whoever that celebrates it.

    Happy New Year Guys !!

  5. So many forums to follow.. omg..:wacko:

Haha..great to see that there's such a race over at the States..

Pity there's nothing much here.. Sure, the Japan GT (JGTC), F1 etc is here, but I feel, those are just too ###### commercialized..

something like LeMons would be great here, considering the amount of beaters that needs to be cleared off the roads..

  6. Took me quite a while to finish this, mainly due to lousy weather here. But here it is, all done.

Very happy with the results.

As usual, I only used industrial paints. Hard to admit this, but I still suck at finer detailing.. =="

    C&C welcomed.

Oh, before I forget, the chassis fitment was horrendous, and you can see the rear wheel's placement is just so, wrong...

  7. Tamiya

    1/20 Ferrari F60 F1 car

    Fujimi

    2009+ Nissan Cube

    Fiat 500 Abarth

    Aoshima

    Mercedes SL63 AMG

    Lancer EVO X AutoArt

Call me crazy but I like the Nssan Cube, hopefully it will be Left Hand Drive, I also hope the same for the SL63, hopefully Aoshima will offer some more Mercedes in the future (E550 Coupe)

That would be worth looking forward to.

    Oh wait.

    Is it AutoArt or RalliArt?

  8. Since I'm on a 2 week+ holiday, I plan to do 3 cars at one go. I guess it won't be hard..

The first is a Chevy Fleetside.

    DSC03686.jpg

Planning to make it dark blue with a optional BBS styled rims. Others will be stock.

The second is a Porsche 911 Turbo Flatnose.

    DSC03687.jpg

This one might be yellow, red, purple, black, silver or - . But I think I'll let you guys decide..

The last is a Honda Civic Type R EP3.

    DSC03688.jpg

This one will be red, with a set of Advan Racing RS rims.

  9. Sorry for butting in like this, but the thread title just grabbed my attention..

I've seen in various magazines where some people sell some form of reflective spray coating for their numbers plate, claiming that it reflects the traffic camera's flash, thus making your car unrecognizable. Isn't that illegal as well?

Come to think of it, my country (Malaysia) ain't that great either. Mods like fixed bucket seats are illegal, underglow, aftermarket HIDs/Xenons.. But since most policemen here has the habit of closing one eye, most mods pass through without any problems. Well, until they reach a police roadblock, that is.

  10. mmmmmmm.............some thing does look familar.........i just wish i new wat is was  . Ohh yeah !!!!

    bullitt_mustang.jpg

anyway you did a really good job. :D . looks just like it. even down to the liscense plates !!!

haha..was just going to mention something about the number plate..as if i have seen it before... :P

  11. These were from a LHS? Were they sold as open, "As Is" kits? Seems you should get better satisfaction from a shop... this sounds more like Ebay. I guess Aoshima would be my first stop to try to get replacement parts if this isn't too old a kit.

Well, can't expect much for a RM5 (circa US$ 1.50) kit. But I do have some plans up my sleeve for that Hilux.

Thank god that only the clear parts and wheels were missing, not the body parts.

Was thinking of using some Lego wheels to go with it..

  12. It has been quite a while since I last visited this site, and I do miss ya'll. And since I am busy studying, my models has to be put on hold, and I have been buying diecasts models to keep myself preoccupied.

Went back to my hometown last Thursday, and went to a LHS and got poisoned.

Here's what I managed to buy

    - Fujimi 17" Volk Racing Formula S

    - Fujimi 17" WORK EQUIP Voggerd

    - Revell 1/24 Ford Mustang GTO 7/Eleven

    - Aoshima Toyota Hilux 4x4 Pick Up

    - Revell 1/24 Chevrolet Fleetside '72

    - Italeri 1/35 Leopard 2 A5

Well, sad thing is, the Hilux has several wheels missing, and the clear parts were gone. The Fleetside and Mustang GTO seems complete, other than the decal issue.

I just wanna ask is there any way that I might be able to salvage the Hilux and not end up purely for just spare parts? As for the Mustang GTO, my plan is to paint it all white, aka test car style, as the decals are more than 20 years old ! (kit dated back to 1987)

Hope that someone might be able to help me out.

    Cheers,

    Eric
