  1. Eric , the answer is simple for me . I grew up in the service station industry. I was the photographer for the book , Check the Oil by Scott Anderson written in 1982. I have restored cars , owned a towing company . a couple of Taxis and I owned Art- Forms Design , a Van accessory company in Houston Texas back in the day.

Now whay would't I want models of some of the "Rides " I have helped to create? :( Ed Shaver

Wow, that's cool. Your life seems to revolve around cars. :P

Yeah, it would only be natural that you would want a scaled down version of what you have created. Me too. :)

  2. Good choice of body color, looks very cool!

As for the rims, good luck with them, I think replacing the stock ones with some Pegasus rims is definitely worth it. Here's my GT-H with the same rims like above:

That is one cool looking 'stang ! I wished I could find some decent aftermarket rims for my 'stang, but there's none here ! ;)

  3. hey e-man wuz up? :P

well everyone, looks like we all have something in comin!

me well i also gotta play with all the parts and look over the whole kit befor building it,

and i also build a model get tyred of it and the start on another,

or i challenge my self and i will be working on 2-5 model kits at once! like right now i am building a 55 chevy stepside, honda s2000, 93 mustang cobra, plus 2 1/18 die-cast cars! a datsun 240, and a jaguar e-type coupe!

but i guess i build because i love cars and (and same here fujimilover! :( ) ;) also its a habit too! i can easly get caried away!

and i hear ya trans am erik! :P

Cool. The most I did in a row was 2 cars..one had to be resprayed, while the other went fine..now I am doing the sam again. a 94 LEgacy wagon+Revll M3..pics of the legacy aint up yet, and I hope they will be up soon.

and yeah, I love cars..but i havent found the skills to properly mod 'em yet! ;)

  4. It's okay, clean lines but nothing exciting or inspiring. Better than the sedan (especially w/o the bulging taillights). Typical Accord :(

I would think a Hyundai Genesis coupe would elicit a lot more positive response. It has far more character than the Accord coupe.

Wow. First time I hear someone that rather picks a Hyundai over a Honda. ;)

If truth were to be told, somme Hyundais do look quite good. Hmm. i10 ?

  5. E-Man, I don't KNOW why I do it. Habit maybe? I don't even finish them anymore.Just build till I lose interest in THAT particular model, then I put it up, an start or mess with one I've already started. Don't really know when this happened, it just did. I'm fortunate in that I've been doin it for a long time, an I have a LARGE stock to pull from. My wife tells me to take them to the shows to sell, but I've had some kits for so long, they're like old freinds. Got a 69 RoadRunner with a 1.79 price tag still in plastic, from 1970, jus wish I still had the cartoon box the original issue came with!

Now,I just sit an putz, not really gettin anything finished, but gettin little things done. One of these days, I'll get enuff "little things" done, that I'll actually finish one!

Hiya George!! After reading what you have said, it seemed to me that ->

    You build the kit

    Then lost interest. screwy.gif

Unbuilt cars ends up in stock yard?

Wife tells you to say bye bye to them, but then sentimental value holds you back, right?

  6. Very very curious question here..

Do you guys model because ->

    1) You enjoy modeling

    2) Want to make realistic models

    3) others, please state

As for me, I enjoy modeling, as a whole. Not like some other people (not from this board), that actually treats modeling as making ultra ultra realistic models. Yeah, I know that once one's skill is good enough, the models will look realistic naturally.

  7. Need some ideas for wheels. The wheels that came with it just didn''t look right on it. Thinkin maybe some pegusus 24's

    tell me what you think

    Thanks for looking

    Hi there, vizio93.

Nice Shelby you got there. The body looks very well painted. ;)

About your selection of rims, I would suggest to show us what you have in mind, so we can help you deicde.

    Cheers,

  8. 98 Lotus Elise and/or Exige would be nice to have in 1/24 scale plastic model kit form. My Dad has two 97 Lotus Elise car's for a project he's working on and I'd love to be able to build a model of one for him. At least he has theme in 1/18 and 1/43 scale.

I'm very suprised I have not seen the Elise/Exige in 1/24 plastic form yet! It's a darn popular and darn sexy car!

Same thought occurred to me. Where is the Elise/Exige??? Licensing issues, perhaps?

  9. After I was going through this thread, I realize that there are many cars that manufacturers missed out ! How the h*** could they have missed out a road standard Aston Martin? I would do one of those ! And as for classic lovers, I do like the curvy surfaces those cars have, but if only they exists in 1/24. Funny how the worst of cars could have appeared in 1/24. Things like the Renault Megane from Fujimi was a nightmare. What about you guys?

  10. The Tamiya 370Z, at 3400 yen, will come into the US with a retail price probably approaching $60; the Carrera GT lists for 3400 yen and is $54 USD and the 350Z NISMO is 3000 yen and $52 USD. A Tamiya FXX is $71 USD. Needless to say hobbyshop prices like this keep online sources like Hobbylink in business.

US retail prices for Tamiya/Aoshima/Fujimi are brutal, due to import costs and an extra distribution channel to take their cut.

Sound oh-so-familiar to my country's tax rates in order to protect the local car scene. If I'm not mistaken, Revell/AMT/ERTL kits are very very cheap, right? Say less than $20USD for a Mustang.
