  1. Hello Guys: Thanks for the genuine concern and help as I decide how to procede. The tutorial was informative. Merk
  2. Hello Kenny:You must be the attitude police? Nice kiss up to management. Ease of use is allways a consideration when joining a new site. After spending time photographing and then manipulating my pics so they could be shared I was disapointed and frustrated when they didn't load leaving me with some attitude. I doubt I'm the only one who's ever run into this, most just conform or leave. Content generated by the members is what makes an internet forum work, chase people away and it fails to be all it can be. I asked for recomendations on the other sites can you be more discriptive with your evaluation of said other sites? This was my first choice in model car sites and I do like it here. I'm going to hang around for awhile Thanks, Merk
  3. Hello Clay: Ya I know and I suppose I should give in and open one somewhere. Do you have a recomendation? I might join a few other model sites and spread my builds around. I see many of the same people are at the other sites too. I get a kick out of your sig pic of the little guy, allways makes me smile. Thanks, Merks
  4. I don't want to! Thats another internet account I don't need, it's also a double job to post first to the photo account and then drag a URL over here. When I look back over the forum on many earlier posts by others the pics are gone accounts are closed ect. The software running the forum here works good, I would like to be able to use it. However I might like to delete my pics after a few days anyways so this could work out OK. I assume you want to see my stuff? Merk
  5. Hi Guys: Thanks for the encoragement and offer of help. I can run a computer pretty well and could start up a photo account if I want. Is there a way to get more space here? or am I stuck with the 1.95 MB. I run my own web site with the same forum software so I know it's easy for management to give me more space. For now I will go back and delete my stuff after a day or two and that will let me keep posting new but it does make a mess of the board for people tring to read the old posts because there won't be any pictures. I have quite a few projects going and would like to share more. OK back to the Buggy Build. Here are pics of the wheel adapters and the chassis assembly with motor now installed. Merk
  6. Hi Guys: I'm not opening another account. If this board will only allow the few pics already posted then I have found the wrong site. Too bad, I had new pics and story for you all and had just begun to show some crazy outside the box modeling. Anyone want to recomend one of the other sites? Thanks, Merk
  7. Hi Guys: I'm tring to post update pictures but the board says I have used 1.94 MB of attachment space and only have 1.95 so I can't upload anymore pictures? Anyone know how to fix this. Thanks, Merks

    Trailers

Hi Guys: Update on the AMT Display Case Trailer project. Here are the measurements so you can decide if your models will fit. This kit comes with a clear display cover, more on that later. The wheels and tires from thre kit had a bad fitup and are just plain ugly so I bought these cast metal rims with tires. they are from the pinewood dirby car stuff. This ment I needed to modify the axle tubes. i thought I could drill out the springs and add larger axle tubes but I wrapped up the springs and broke them tring to drill, Ouch! Reglued and added some new linkage. Here are a few pics. Thanks, Merk
  9. Hi Guys: I saw this toothbrush holder at Wallyworld and bang, my brain is thinking Hot rod. Here is my first idea, a dragster. It will need some skinnies up front and a big old Hemi sticking up from a hole cut in the middle. Going to get a few more because I'm also seeing a twin bodied street rod and a 3 wheeled jet powered Bonniville toothbrush holder streamliner........... Thanks, Merk
  10. With the bodywork done it's back to the "Speed Shop" for more assembly.
  11. Hi guys: An update on the Buggy build. The hood fit was bad with uneven gaps. Glued the hood in place and filled the gaps, filled the fender mount mirror holes and molded in the license plate light. A coat of primer and the bodywork is done.
  12. Hi Guys:Your buggys look great! I have chopped up a few VWs myself. Raced them in the dirt, on pavement and on ice. Put the most miles on them running through the Wisconsin Woods on weekends. New guy here, hope it's OK to post non model pictures? Thanks, Merk

    Trailers

Hello: I have been building trailers to use in diarama settings and read some of you are too. Here are a few pics of the AMT Display Case Trailer. I also have built the Revell Race Car Trailer and the AMT single axle trailer from the Caprice kit. AMT twin axle traler is on order. I will add pics of the others along with measurement so you can decide if your car will fit. More soon. Thanks, Merks
  14. Hello: Here we have a scratch built wood block Hydro with injected V8. Tow vehcle is the AMT 53 Ford P/U with flattie. Boat and truck still need a few detail items and some decoration. Trailer is from the AMT Caprice with trailer kit. Thanks, Merk
  15. Hello: Back to work on the little buggy today. Put the VW motor together. It needs a litle more detail but is close. Kit came with a corvair motor also that I might build just to see what it looks like. Thanks, Merks
  16. Hello VW Dave: Great looking buggy! Here's a pic of my 1:1 buggy project. Thanks, Merk
  17. Hi: Here we have a work in progress dune buggy build. The kit was missing one wheel so I found these chrome reverse rims with baby moons in the parts box. Body color plan is yellow with buckskin seats. Thanks, Merk
  18. Here you go. Jack Dvorak's Bar. The building hasn't changed much. It is still open for business, Now called "Fitter III" it's Location is 5 miles south of Madison, Wisconsin.
  19. Hi Guys: Thanks for the welcome. Here is a look just before I shot the pics above. Lighting was just the floresent lights from above. No other lights were used, camara was hand held. The backdrop picture printed on 8 1/2 X 11 wasn't big enough to frame the car so I printed one off in reverse and taped the two together. Photo program used to add the Antique Sepa tone and the soft edge was some cheap disc that came with a greating card kit bought for less then $20.00 Quick, easy and fun. More progress on the truck soon, Merk
  20. Hello: New Guy here. I have been reading for awhile and have decided to join in. A friend of mine who own's a small local bar asked me to scan some old snap shots of his place taken in the 50s -60s. I printed one off and set it on the table behind this work in progress '34 ford. A bit of sepa tone with a photo program and here you go. A traditional Hot Rod in a vintage setting. Thank you to all who have posted ahead of me, I've enjoyed looking through all the forums and galleries. Merk
