  1. I believe your post is nothing more than a personal political statement, and as such, I am highly offended.

    :lol::lol: :lol:

    Gentlemen-------- I------------------ AM ---AN ___EQUAL----OPPURTUNITY -----------OFFENDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ED SHAVER oh yeah, Im also a libertarian too.

  2. Hey john, the Street Rod Nationals are here in the land that time forgot this weekend. come on up I-64 and go to Richmond Raceway. I bet you'll actually see a car similar to yours! No, it wont be me I have a stock 53 Ford Panel Delivery. Very nice though! Ed Shaver

  3. Kevin , I am real suprised that you havent mentioned a rarity from the fifties ,and thats a Monogram Cadillac from 1956. It was about 1-20th scale I also noticed you don't have a Revell Eldorado Broham, one of my all time favorite cars. It was done in 125th scale. The body was a " MUlti-Piece" and the trim was molded seperate. You also forgot Revell's 1-32 1956 El Dorado convertable, I used to own one of these , It really had TWO four barrel Rochesters on it from the factory. Ran nice too. Ed Shaver

  4. Hey Lyle and John, they re having a show in Norfolk October . Why don't yaall come for that? It's Automotive Modlers society not THE rivett boys mebbie I see yaall there. Oh yeah, bring the Impala too!!!!!! Ed Shaver

  5. I need to get a set of their Pontiac Dog Dish hubcaps but I'm having a little trouble finding them.

    Thanks.

    Blu, I was in Winston Salem North Carolina thjis past week-end I spoke to the owner of Time Macine resin on several subjects. Isaw som Cadillac wheel covers there that while they are " Full " covers It seems to me that you could convert them to you're needs. What you're show ing isn't too much different than the Cadillac covers Time Machine resins address is 773 Fitzpatrick Road Nashville Tennesee 37214 or go to timemachineresin@comcast.net or timemachineresin.bravehost,com/ EdShaver

  6. It reminds me of the Nova from the same era when Generic Motors did a Nova with a formal roof. I got a call from a body shop when I lived in Dallas trying to find a good rust free body . Never did find one. They really didn't sell too many of those Formal roof models either. Meanwhile , You're post got me to looking, very interesting................. Ed Shaver

  7. I bet you that wrecker , the real one if there is one rides rough as you know what!!!!!!!!!!!! Still, the turning radius would be great as the cab could turn onit self. I wqould like to see a real one and talk to someone whose had experence with the real thing. All the "Big " wreckers I ever drove were conventional cabs because in that big of a truck , they ride is very rough. With something behind weeeeeelllll................. Still, its a beautiful job you did on the model, I have family that worked for Shell Oil at one time. I used to be a wrecker driver - owner too. EdShaver

  8. I use the Testors Rust , it comes as a color in theirsmall bottles. I usually thin it and apply it .to the engine. I also use the Cheap acrylic paints from Michiels Art stores. The water paints are flatter and to me replicates the rust better to me any way. Old used thinner is also a favorite to me too. you can incorperate that into the engine for a semi gloss shine to depict oil leakage. Ed shaver

  9. Clay , you're probably going to hate me for sugesting this but I will anyway. What would happen if you tranlsplanted the " Big Window " from a 56 cab to the 53? Yep, look at the indententations in the cab, you could still do a Big window perhaps and it would be unique. Look theres a fellow who lives just up the street from me who has a 1-1 55 Ford . His Ford features a hood opening just like yours. He runs a 460 Ford engine in it . Well, its just a thought. Ed Shaver

  10. Bill since a lot of the cars in Beckley looked like that in the day what with the piece meal chrome from the cinders the D O T would put down so you could get around the mountian, why not leave it as it is ? I think you're onto somthing extremely realistic from the era. EdShaver

  11. Eric I saw that kit at the Winsto Salen N C show this weekend. I was a little afaid to buy it after th fiasco with their supposed 1-24th scale Gremlin Grabber kit. Prices were a little high there simply because the hotel was a very upscale place to stay any how. Vendors had no choice but to reflect that because of what it was costing them to sell. I would be curious as to what you thoufght of the kit would you drop me a line or would some one else drop me a line as to their feelings on the whole kit? I like what you did on your rod , it looks very "Period Perfect" also old enough to remember such cars roaming the streets and drive -ins here too. Ed Shaver

  12. Jose , first why did you move to San Antonio? Thats almost as dredfull as El-Paso. look I used to live in Houston , and while its no paneiceia, its livable . Uh seriously , theres a real nice hobby shop on Richmond ASve in Housto you should visit. they can hook you up with some stuff. Replicias of Maryland has some real nice stuff and there was a company I saw in Winston Salem that Vended at the Carolina Custom Moddelers show there this past week end , uh Ill see if K-dog has any info. I also saw some stuff Bandit resins that would have interested you too. Ed Shaver

  13. I seem to remember that the 78 Chevrolet M P C did and A M T reissued was a 4x4, it had a transfer case. I knoe in real life you could put a small block Chevrolet in a Scout as I seen it done here in Virginia. I also remember a guy in Housto when I lived there because you aint seen high prices till you go buy parts for a " Combine" machine. Ed Shaver

  14. I agree with everyne as to the trouble with B M F. I tryed Chrome Paint that ######- N -Blaque sugjested for something else. I really does have a brushed look about it and could pass for stainless trim tha General Motors used on their cars in the 1950's so look for Duplicolor Chrome , O K ? Ed Shaver

  15. Bill, there was a fellow that lived here in the area here that had such a Cord Beverly painted that color. He told me then it was correct and that it wasn't a common color too. Ive seen black and maroon more often. I would also contact the Auburn , Cord , Dusenburg Meseum in Indiania as to weither you could do your Cord in that color . Ed Shaver
