Hi Tim: Yep, I have the kit of the Papa truck, and the AMT Aerodyne which is the same truck and wheel base. I'll use the bed of the Papa truck to make a copy for the Hideout truck. I'm also going to replace the rims with more prototypical chrome 5 hole budd steel wheels. I'm going to make molds of the tires in the Papa truck so the tires will have Tyrone Malone's name as well as Bandag's name. I'll also end up making my own decals for that truck too. Those hauler kits go for way too much money when you can find them online, I don't even want to admit how much I paid for the one I have:)

I've been working on this truck for a month on and off and finally finished it. It's the old Amt Tyrone Malone Bandag Bandit. I got the kit off Ebay a while back to go with my Super Boss. I ended up having to make all the decals, because of the originals being unusable. I got it fairly close, the blue pinstripes are a little large but it works:) I painted it flat black and then coated that with Tamiya clear blue.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. It's a project I've been contemplating for a while. It's got the stock 8V-71 engine under the cab. I'm still figuring out what kind of wrecker to do for a future project.

This one I just finished last night. I scratch built almost all of the wrecker body and booms, save the winch and cut down side pieces from an AMT Pete wrecker. I made the decals except for the flames.

Wow, no kidding, small world! The Eureka Inn has been closed now for almost three years or better.

Here is my model of one of Seattle's two 1969 Kenworth tractor drawn ariel ladder trucks. I'm working on a narrow nose for it so it will be more prototypical. the trailer, rear truck body, and ladder turntable are scratch built. I made the decals. The 100' ladder is about 4 feet long when extended all the way out.

Thanks guys: These are the first logging trucks I've built after a twenty year hiatus from the hobby. These are the only ones I've completed so far with more in the future. I have about 12 other trucks I've finished including a Kenworth tractor drawn ariel ladder truck from the Seattle Fire Department circa 1970. Cheers: Bill

Here are some pics of my other logging trucks. All the logging equipment on the Western Star is home cast by me, including the drivers and trailer wheels.

Here is my model of Gary Foglio Trucking's 1967 Peterbilt logging truck. I cast the trailer and all wheels except the two front, along with all bunks and mud flaps from resin masters I made from an ERTL and AMT logging trailer. trailer. I used an old AMT California Hauler for the truck. The real truck works out of Florence Oregon.
