Wow this is a bit of a controversial thread. On the topic of Continentals in film clips, does anyone recall a video from a few years ago featuring an American rapper driving a black one with big diameter wire-spoke wheels? I think he is singing with or about a girl and ends up side-swiping a guard rail with sparks flying. I remember thinking the car looked pretty sweet at the time. -
Nice! I still prefer the works GAA-powered Capri's though... 400+ nat-asp. V6 anyone?!

I'm glad not many (to be honest I don't know why any do) people celebrate Halloween in Australia... that kinda stuff freaks me out big time!

I'm glad I stayed up to watch the end of the race... it was 1am here when it finished! I just can't understand why Ferrari didn't call Kimi in to the pits for a set of Intermediates. He would have lost 30 odd seconds slowing, stopping and trundling back out again but as it was lap times blew out some 50% on the final 2 which he could have easily made up on the wet tyres. Argh it made me so angry. Not to say I am some die-hard Fezza fan (I was a Schumacher fan though) but I’m not into Hamilton at all!

What an awesome combo! I love the Falcon... is it an Aussie resin hardtop shell or a mass produced kit? You've done an excellent job.

Nice one! Armstrong Siddeley Station Coupe to be precise (surely 'ute' or pick-up would have sufficed). I don't know how you managed that but good work. Your turn I suppose

Not a Holden, Ford or Chrysler. The company was an amalgamation of two other companies (hint, two part name) and made it through the Depression with the production of modestly priced small cars. They stopped making cars in 1960. The utility shown in my pictures was actually from the 1950's and were popular due to their 6-cyl engines and the long waiting list for cars such as Chevrolet's. For what it's worth they weren't an Australian only-model from what I've found out.

My main interest is really anything automotive. I would consider many of the car shows, drag and circuit meets and car club cruises I attend a hobby. I really enjoy reading books, technical journals and magazines on cars, motorsport, hot rods etc. so I guess that too is kind of a hobby. I do enjoy photography but really only at a very ammature level. I like the idea of taking candid images by the dozen in order to capture some of the things I've been doing in my youth. My other main interest/passion is live music. I like CD's and reading updates/goss on some of my favourite bands but really there is nothing like going out at night with a couple of your mates, having a beer or two and jumping around like a lunatic in front of the stage

Audi 100 with 5-cyl turbo/Quattro drive train = BEAST! I think it's that one done up General Lee style. Now here's a tough one... hint, sold in Australia (possibly local-only body style) but English design/owned.

Go the Austin Sprite! Although most of us are aware of these car's pedigree in circuit, rally and sprint racing across the world for the last 40+ years there was one prominent Sprite that used to race in various drag classes with a 2.0L Nissan FJ20 turbo engine down here. It really was well before its time here in Australia. The car pretty much pre-dated most if not all of the 'high-tech' turbo cars of say the last 10 - 12 years. Check it out: http://www.turbocreations.com/fj20/drwatson/

Looks like you've been pretty busy Ed! I really like the pick-up

I thought it time to post up a photo of one of my own models. This is a build I did around 10 years ago (give or take a year) for the local Hot Rod magazine Australian Street Rodding and their reader's model section. If you sent in a photo of your car and it was deemed the best for the month you received a new kit (or two in my case) as a prize. The only mods I recall doing to this were using the chrome blower & belt cover and Hilborn style scoop from the AMT 1940 Ford Coupe kit. The little decals, well I'm unsure where they came from now. Other then that I chose my own colour combo and completed the exterior paint (Humbrol) by brush. I would have to say that it was the best finish I ever achieved with a brush and even to this day I'm not sure why. Kurt.

I really like the period look of this car. With the white walls it kind of has a 50's/early 60's flavour to it however it's well and truely brough into the 60's style with the candy metallic paint. It reminds me of this mad channeled A coupe here in Aus although not quite as low...

She's real fine... your 409 What a stout looking Chev, love the Pro Street look!

Top work! A very insightful and thorough build from what I can tell. I too enjoy the first version moreso then the later... mainly because there are so many stock, early Mazdas visible in it!

What Car Do You Wish To Be A Model That Isn't?

A 1960 Studebaker Lark Hartop Oh a 1971 - 74 Mazda 1300 Estate/Wagon! -
Thanks Dave for your response to my dilema. The other 3 wheels are in good condition so I guess it may be worth asking in the wanted section for a 4th. I'd prefer not to strip the all of them but I may still try and recover the damaged wheel with some foil. I wonder if I will have any difficulty with the more intricate shape, particularly with getting the BMF to stay down?
