  1. Well, its back!!! The former 1/24 Monogram 70 Pontiac Trans Am has been re-issued under the Revell Motor-City Muscle series. I believe the last time we had seen this one was sometime in the early '90's?? It appears to be pretty much a strait re-issue with the exception of those "Big Wheels". Don't worry, the stock Rallys are included!!! Yea!!! The kit has survived pretty well as there does not seem to be too much flash and the details are still pretty sharp. The instructions are strait forward and easy to read. Decals have two options to build the white car with blue stripes or the blue car with white stripes. There is no Trans Am lettering though. Tires are the old standby Revellogram Goodyears that no longer sport the lettering. The tires for the large 5 spoke wheels appear to be Goodyear Gatorbacks, but once again with no lettering. I have yet to build this issue but I have built the previous one and it went together fairly well and builds up into a nice Trans Am. I sure hope someone out there will cast a Formula hood for it though!!! HINT!!! HINT!!! I tried about a year ago and failed. It would be an easy conversion with a resin hood. Just remove the side scoops and the flares( You willl have to add material to the fenders) put on the Formula hood and presto!!!! Either way it is good to see the '70 re-issued. The prices on E-Bay were getting out of hand on these!!! I will probley buy at least 10 more before I am done!!! LOL!!!! KT
  2. One of these days I will step up to the Digital age!! But for now all I have is the ole' 35mm. and my "camera" phone!! As for camaras I have always had the best luck with Cannon. KT
  3. I like it!!! Looks like you got rid of the Cowl Induction??? Did you cut and fill??? Looks good. KT
  4. SPIDERS,SPIDERS,SPIDERS!!!!!! Thats all I have to fight!!! At least they do not eat the models!! I have just about every tool and spray known to man in my battle against these creatures!! So far I seem to be on top...but...who knows???KT
  5. Did anyone else notice Bill's pics. The only room that looked halfway complete is the model room!!! Now thats dedication!!!!
  6. Very nice Brian!!! That just looks awesome!!
  7. Not Gregg, but mabe you can contact them direct at 1-303-296-1600. They should be able to let you know if the mag has been shipped out to you yet??? Just a thought!!! KT
  8. Well, first of all be sure to make a template with a piece of paper or cardstock(Index cards) so you can get both sides correct. I will usually tape the whole quarter with tape and then transfer the template to the body using a pencil. I then cut the tape away exposing the area to be removed. This at least should get you even on both sides. Work slowly to remove the material up to your tape line. It is best to not get too close and use a file for the last little bits. Remember that a Dremel can blast a plastic body almost in half if you are not paying attention!!! Last I will usually add some evergreen strip to re-create the fender lip. Some fine sanding and mabe a bit of putty and you should be OK!!! Hopefully you have a scrap body to try it on first!!! Hope this helps!! Let us know if you do it and how it turned out!!! Good luck!! KT
  9. Haven't seen any Kris. I assume you are talking about vaccum fittings.Have you tried to make them yourself using wire and painting them white??
  10. Not to mention how inexpensive and disposable the latex gloves are as opposed to the "Cotton" ones. You just use the latex ones once and toss them out!! I get mine at SAM'S Club localy and they cost about $9.00 for two boxes of 100 gloves.
  11. I have found as many of the rest of us that one of the most "Stressfull" parts of building a model is the final assy. All to often we end up smudging something or another. Well in recent years I have learned to clean up my area before finishing my model to ensure that I am not going to place the body into something(glue,etc.). But one of the things that helps the most is to wear gloves(Latex) during my final assy. By wearing gloves I do not get fingerprints all over stuff like the windows and body. I do not know if anyone else does this, but I think it really helps. You can pick up a box of gloves for very little $$$.
  12. Dont forget to have a great time Billy!!! Cannot wait to see some pics.!!!
  13. Hopefully someone out there will be inspired with the re-release to actually tool up and produce a Formula hood for it in 1/24??? I guess we will see!!!

  15. Great info. Mike!!! I have a set of the Aoshima tires and wheels that I bought at the LHS. I was told that they are the same as in the Toyota Hilux Double Cab. Is this correct??? Just curious.
  16. Say Marc, is the grille and front bumper separate or molded as one piece??? Got any pics?

  18. Just curious if they still exist??? I was digging around in my stuff the other day and came across the trailer decal set for the Smokey & The Bandit II that I picked up a few years back. It has to be the biggest decal I have ever seen in scale!!! It just got me wondering if anyone knows about what ever happened to the 1:1. Also, did these decals come in a kit originally??? I have always wanted to build one and I think it would be better if I had a whole kit to start!!! Has any of you tried or built one??? KT
  19. I am not sure if we are ALL pros. There is a very diverse crowd here from beginners to experts and everything in between!!! Welcome to the board!!! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!!!! KT
  20. I believe it was from lack of sales mostly. If you look there is still a few of them around. Have you checked E-Bay?? Just a thought!!! I really liked their wheels too but it seems the majority of builders are going to the large 20"-24" wheels and I believe the market for those '70's-80's mags have kinda gone soft. I guess its a sign of the times!!! KT
  21. We are due Oct.25 Darin!! Baby is a little on the small side, but she is on bed rest and they say it should be OK!! We will see!!!! KT
