  1. Thank you. I think that'll work. Chris
  2. I'm building a model and need to replicate the rust bubbles under the paint. Any ideas on how to replicate it? Here's a pic of the Jeep I'm building a model of: Thanks, Chris
  3. Hi Guys, I'm looking at building the Tamiya Jeep Grand Cherokee kit for someone. It's to be a replica of his 1:1 daily driver. It has factory running boards, and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to scratchbuild these. They're not tubular nerf bars, but the molded side steps. Any input would be great. Thanks, Chris
  4. Thanks for the compliments. Yes, there is a CB in there. Later in the series the hero car did have chrome Moroso valve covers and a chrome deep dish air cleaner. It also had a sheet metal firewall cover, chrome hood hinges, and a chrome header panel. This is a model of the original hero car as it was in the first five episodes when the filming first began in Georgia. There were numerous changes to the General over the run of the series (interior color changed, elimination of side marker lights, just to name a few). Chris
  5. Well, it's all done. I added A/C lines, and wiring in the engine bay. The pushbar and CB antenna are scratchbuilt, and I added a radio antenna. I added an automatic 727 transmission and 8-3/4 rear end to the drivetrain. The interior has A/C vents in the dash and pedals and shifter for the auto tranny. Thanks for looking, Chris Here are some pix:
  6. I was just wondering, does anyone make the Charger hood with underhood bracing? The hood in the R/M kits are flat. If anyone has any leads, could you please let me know? Thanks. Chris
  7. Thanks for the compliments guys. This car, known as LEE 3 was the original close-up car when filming first began.
  8. Here's the finished interior. A/C vents in the dash, auto console, factory tan.
  9. Hi guys, I'm thinking about getting some custom decals professionally made. I think this is the best route because the artwork has a lot of white trim that would be difficult to accomplish with white DIY decal paper. An Alps printer isn't an option. So... As anyone done this before? Anyone you would recommend? Any information would be helpful. Thank you, Chris
  10. Thanks for the help guys. Yeah, it was the picture in front of the mirror. I'll check out R& R. Chris
  11. I'm looking for a 1970 Cadillac Deville Convertible (or hardtop). I found someone on eBay who is casting them in resin and I bought one cheap, but it's pretty bad (I got what I paid for). I was wondering if anyone knows of any good resin companies that produces this kit. Thank you. Chris
  12. Hi guys, I'm looking for an alternative paint for V2 Hemi Orange body paint for a Charger I'm building. Hemi Orange has a hint of metal flake in it, which I don't want. And I've read that there is a color difference between the engine paint and the body paint. Could anyone make some recommendations? I'm not opposed to mixing colors to get the right match. Thanks, Chris
  13. Ok, I could use a little feedback on this. I wanted to have a little bit of rust on the exhaust manifolds (as I'm building it, the car is supposed to be about 10 years old). What do you think?
  14. Hey guys, I'm a huge Dukes fan and belong to a couple of Dukes forums. We're having a model contest with builds of specific Lees. This build is a replica of the original hero car known as LEE 3. It was originally an R/T SE car with a/c and a factory tan interior. Here's some of my pics so far. There's still a lot of work to do. I weathered the chassis to look like it had been driven a while. The seats are just mocked up, the flocking needs some touch up. One of the door panels. I'd appreciate the feedback. I'll keep you updated.
  15. Thanks. Competition Resin does have the 727. No luck at Time Machine on the 8-3/4. I'll keep looking.
  16. Hi guys, I'm new to the forum. I'm looking for a 727 torqueflite and 8 3/4 rearend. Do you know of any resin casters that offer these items? Thanks for the help.
