  1. Greetings once again, Well my next project is going to be the Greer Black and Prudhomme yellow car. I have the Reliable Resin body and scoop and plenty of exterior photos but I need some interior details. What kind of rearend were they using etc. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks PS I'm going to have get brave and start posting some photos.
  2. Thanks for heads up Straightliner!
  3. Hey you guys are great...thanks for the quick response. Turns out I was able to find some great photos of the restored car and they were right on my book shelf! For future reference check out the book The Garlits Collection by Mike Mueller published in hardcover in 2004. There are all kinds of cars from the museum detailed in full colour including the Cook and Bedwell dragster. In fact there are eight pages with about a dozen beautiful shots of the cars detail. Again thanks for all the help.
  4. My next project is the Monogram "Slingshot" dragster which as we all know is essentially the Cook and Bedwell dragster. I'm looking for any building information that I need to take into account to make this a fairly accurate representation. What colour was the car? Blue? Any photos would be a great help. Thanks
  5. Thanks for all the great suggestions. In the end I found some Goodyear decals in the scrap drawer and then got some Micro Flat and applied that looks not too bad.
  6. I'm looking for help with a project. I'm building the Mongoose Hotwheels dragster and I've purchased some nice Competition Resin 60's slicks to replace the improper slicks included in the kit. My plan was to sand-off the raised Goodyear and replace with some Gofer Racing Tire transfers. Well I did the sanding and cleaning but the transfers just won't adhere to the slicks. My guess is that the transfers are simply too old or the tire is too rough. In anycase I've tried it three times and the best that happens is only part of the transfer sticks. DANG! Painting the label is now out of the question. Any suggestions about my best option?
  7. Hey guys Thanks for the prompt reply and good suggestions. Much appreciated.
  8. Greetings everyone, Hey I just picked up a couple of the reissued Tommy Ivo front engine dragster...really looking forward to the build...but the kit doesn't have the proper size slicks. Judging by the scale size they're too wide. My guess is I'd be better off with the slicks from the MPC Ramchargers kits...right? Any help on confirming this (what did the original slicks look like?) would be much appreciated. Any chance someone out there has a set or two up for grabs? Cheers.
  9. Hi guys, Not sure where this should be posted, so I went with the General Category. I'm heading down to the NHRA drags in Seattle next weekend and was wondering about a good model shop that stocked drag cars and aftermarket stuff? I used to go to a place called the Renton Hobby Hut, but I'm not sure if they're even still around. Any pointers you could provide would be much appreciated. Thanks Jerry
