Some more pictures,The wheels is aftermarket, fleamarket find, all chrome , i took the orginal minilite rims, cut off everything but the center part. Paint and then glue it in the chrome rim. To fit in the new wheels i had to wide the body. Here are some photos of the work. Cut a strip along one body . This is what left of body 1 Now cut body 2 in two pieces and glu on the strip between the two bodyparts. Paint and enginedetails. And yes it´s a Tamiya kit. Torgny

Hallo Skip ! The hood was a pain in the a....the constuction give you hope for a hood that opens...BUT it never going to work as it is, i cut off the left part of the hood so it is very thin,so the right part can slide under the left one when you lift it, even the hinges that hold the right side must be adjusted to make it work.I cant describe all the words i used when this job was done Torgny

Yes you are right! It is the Lindberg/Pyro kit, but the rims are white metal aftermarket with tires that looks autentic for this car. There is a lot to wish with the kit (as you all know)but i dident change too many things ,the focus was to make it look nice over all and with a nice paintjob you are half way.So its not a perfect scalemodel....but its a very satisfactory build. Here is a link to the build on my swedish forum, if you make av translation on the computer you kan read the lines under the fotos, think there are 5 pages. http://scaleracers.inventforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=7387 / Torgny

The only varning i can give you is that the clear you put on top of it don´t have to be to strong, then maby the putty floats away out on the wood. Mine was for woodenfloors , it has hardener in it and it is waterbased. Jody, i am very proud that i inspired you to start up your boatbuild again, it is just that way these forums have to work....to make people build more..and more...and more............ Can´t be here, must build boat......Torgny Sweden

Well , the wood is mahoganyveneer normaly used for modeltrain dioramabuilding, the glue is Crazy Glue (or any fast glue will do). The white thing is regular white Tamiya plaster.About the car(yes it is a Jimmy cast) and woodsides, this i did just to get the same woodcolor as on the boat and last but not least for the challange of doing it. More pictures soooooon /Torgny Sweden. Ps. If there is something you don´t understand ,please ask again. (my english is not so good)

My latest WIP is this Hemi Hydro with real mahoganywood, Covered the boat and painted it with a clear that´s made for wodden floors. The car for the combo is Ford -53 Stationwagon with real woodsides. To be continued..../ Torgny from Sweden

I don´t have any pictures of the roofbuild (sorry) but i took it from a lindberg kit (a ford -53 con) . Then i had to fill up the rear end with plasticcard to make the caracteristic little window from the early VW. The paint is a acrylic paint from warhammer,it is quite thick so after applying i took a brusch and pusch it straight in the surface ,so it make the surface "bumpy"(hope you understand my english is a little rusty). It´s very important for me to always keep the orginal lines and detailing as mutch as possible,( I don´t like to hide the cartype in customtricks, just follow up the orginal lines). Torgny

The paint is from a autoshop, cheep metalic but if you put right amount and silver under it gets like this, someting like the old glitterpaint from the 70:s. Hard to explain, but it looks just the way i wanted. Torgny

Building a racer to beat some records at Bonneville salt flats, dont have the money so i took my mothers old Ford , took away as many parts as i could to lose weight and........................thats maby how the story was told once in the 50:s,when young guys where trying to build fast cars for the dessert races. Thats i for now, Build ,build ,build / Torgny

During a visit i my hometown ,i found two boxes of -53 ford. Both boxes where messed up ,droped in transportation the salesman told me. But the right price made me buy it anyway. One of the bodys where broken, but the rest of the kits was good.So i mixed them together for a limo to the president. I don't know if there was a limo from this year, but there could have been, so this is the result . Torgny/ Sweden
