Hello model car world, I am reposting a build from several years ago. The thread was done in by Photobucket because I liked my money better than their services. So, I’ve taken some new photos using my new I-phone 14 to try out the camera, and I have to say the camera is outstanding. I built the Plymouth using most of the parts it came with, and some that didn’t. Some polished Dupli-Color was used on the outside, with Modelmaster on the inside. I also adjusted on the stance and attitude to give it a more modern look. It’s a better kit than it gets credit for. A fun build for sure.
WOW! What a beauty probably one of the best 41 Plymouth models I've seen..You sure made a turd a nice car..Well done and super clean too..

I always drill them out and replace them now, but in the past, I would just use some clear gloss mixed with just a touch of white, and maybe an even smaller dab of silver.

I use Tamiya Flat clear about 2-3 cotes..

I did not see this on the road, because its not legal to drive on the road. Nor did I see it today. I saw this on Friday, and this is the chance I’ve had to share the pictures. I was kindly invited this last spring to come to Tom Maruska’s shop and see his latest restoration. I’ve been admiring his work years, up at the Motor Madness Shows, every March, in Duluth MN, for many years now. Tom does some of the most beautiful restorations I’ve ever seen. Including several magnificent Thunderbirds. And including the 1963 Thunderbird Italian concept car. Plus the 1954 Mercury XM-800. Now he has just finished restoring the 1956 Mercury show car, the XM Turnpike Cruiser. And Wow! What a beauty. Much prettier in real life, than in any of photos I’ve ever seen of the car in the past.
Tom has done his normal marvelous magic on this car. If your interested in learn more about it, you see articles on the work he’s done in recent issues of Old Cars Weekly. Or you can check it out his website at TPLS62@MSN.COM.
Thanks to Tom for kindly inviting me to his shop, and letting me see this magnificent car in the flesh. Plus seeing his beautiful 1963 Thunderbird convertible again. And an interesting future project he’s working on. That I’m looking forward to seeing done in the future.
Mercury looks like one of Fords show cars from years gone by..Excellent work..

Man,it’s really hard to look 🫣at this really nice AMX Javelin☹️.Some idiot in a Prius probably slammed into it.Arrrrgggg
If a Prius did that kind of ripping the panel and door the Prius would be a write off..definately a truck or something with a real chrome bumper in front..
