Thanks guys for the warm welcome. I'll try and get some pics of my models up soon. Good to see there are other Aussies around. I'm sure I will enjoy my time here and from what I have seen so far there are a lot of talented builders here. Jim, never be ashame of the workmanship on the models you build! We all have different skill levels and capabilities! The important thing is that you enjoy building and enjoy what you build. Learn from any mistakes and take the lesson learnt into the next model. some of us even come back later in years and rebuild an early creation to improve it. This is a good gauge of how you have grown in your experience. BUT NEVER BE ASHAMED mate! Anyone who "knocks" your efforts in a destructive manner has the wrong idea of what the hobby is about. CONSTRUCTIVE critisim is okay, but the critics must be aware of the feelings of those they critcise. Even the best builders started somewhere and built many "shockers". Anyway, off the soapbox!! Hi all from Melbourne, Australia. My name is Tom (duh!) and I found this site trawlin' the web. I liked what I saw and have decided to join. I have been into models (cars, trucks, motorbikes) for a long time but don't get enough time to build. Work keeps me pretty busy. It has been compounded by the loss of the table space I used to have set up as my modellling area. I have good intentions, but there is always some reason they don't come to fruition. Maybe I need more self dicipline. Maybe a little step at a time to finish that model! I have about 100 in boxes on the waiting list! I am member of a couple of model sites and enjoy the chit chat and general banter, as well as looking at other people's WIPs and finished gems. I appreciate all forms of models (yeah, even them. I AM a male after all! ) and am a firm believer that skills in one area of modeling can transfer to other genres. I'll just poke around in the background for a while and get the "lay of th land". So if you see a pair of eyes looking at you from some dark place on the screen, or get the feeling that someone is watching you :ph34r: , don't worry it's only me! Yeah, I'd probably worry too!
