  1. Agree, same to you and your John and to all the members and their families. Have a safe and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
  2. That's a nice pair of Chevy's Bernie! Love the colours. I must agree with the Testers One coat purple and the white being easy to use. I used them on a '49 Ford and they looked nice. And you say these aren't finished yet? Nice job mate.
  3. Very nice build. Love these Chevys and yours is a lovely custom treatment.
  4. Nice job, looks really sweet! I find the pins with the ball on the top, like you get in new shirts, are softer than regular straight pins and bend well with care.
  5. Hi Andre and welcome. Looking forward to seeing the GTX. My dream has always been to own a model shop too. Got close once. I was going to buy an established, model shop....had the finance and all. Owner ended up selling to his no-hoper son for a fraction of what it was worth. He let it run down and closed it down. Bloody shame! Anyhow enjoy your stay.
  6. Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! It's good to see the kids enjoying themselves and bloody great to see the girls in there as well. Look at the smiles on their faces ands so proud of what they have done. I love it!
  7. Looking good Rudy. Love the wide whites on the skinnies! These things looks so good and the top chop is about just right! Lime-gold with metalflake sounds good, especially sporting the surfboard! Keep it up man. Looking forward to seeing it come to life!
  8. Firstly welcome aboard and I hope you call it home for a while. That's a nice looking Pete you have put together there. Keep 'em comin' mate. Cheers.
  9. Let's see....left school at 15 1/2 years old and joined the Royal Australian Navy. Spent 20 years serving my country in the navy as a communications technician. Left the navy and didn't stray far, as I have been employed as a Training Specialist and designer since then at the dockyard in Melbourne, Australia. We design courses for RAN personnel for the ships we build here. The latest project is the LHD that we are building in partnership with Navantia in Spain.
  10. It's coming on well Bernard. Has the right look already with the chop'n'channel....and loooove those steelies, baby moons and trim rings!
  11. Nice work Don! I like this '32 Vicky. I must admit, with the camera work, it looked lik a 1:1 job to me too. A tribute to your work with the model and the camera mate! Cheers!
  12. That's a beautiful Merc Tommy, bloody beautiful! Everything looks just right; the colour, the louvres in the bonnet, the wheels, the black decals, the grille, the huge exhaust tips, all of it man! BTW, how did you do the louvres? Cheers, Tom.
  13. Stop it Ernie, STOP IT! I need to take a breath! Sorry brother but I am in stitches with laughter here! All at your expense. Sorry man. Hope you are okay and there is no lasting injuries. No doubt you won't be able to afford a new model or two for a while whilst you make it up to the missus fo the carpet. They are precious the little grandkids, aren't they? I have four grand daughters and a grandson, all between 2 and 11 years of age. I think most of them think I'm a silly old bugger but they love coming to visit the wife and I. I wouldn't change any of them for the world and I love those precious moments that you have with them. They really make me laugh at times, and I think I make them laugh also. Hope the dogs aren't scarred for life mate! Maybe they like being green! Cheers and thanks for the laugh Ernie. I hope tomorrow is a better day!

Nice work on this one! Old world beauty in a, what seems at first, simple package. Very clean build of a slightly different subject. Well done!
  15. A sad sight for a mighty mini indeed! Nice work on the weathering and the deflted tire looks very convincing. I also like the convincing job on the "tin" fence.
  16. Not in the US Justin, but I was a member of the Royal Australian Navy for 20 Years. Joined in July 1970 and discharged in November 1990. I was a Electronics Technician working on radio communications equipment. I discharged as a Petty Officer (your NCO). Since then I haven't broken ties with the Navy, as such. I have been working for a couple of companies in ship building here in Melbourne. I built a couple of models whilst serving. Quiet time on the ship and all. Used to cop it a bit from other crew members, but converted on or two. I still take a project away with me when I go on business within Australia for an extended time. Cheers mate, Tom.
  17. Coming along well cosmic. Looks low and mean! Pics are little out of focus mate and I would hate to miss any deatail on this beauty! Keep it coming! Lovin' it.
  18. Welcome Jody! Hope you enjoy the ride! I hope you hang around and get involved in the conversations and give us plenty of advise.
  19. Dingo me old mate, this is coming along great and I certainly like it and your creativeness. Don't let this person get to you. As the others have said, he is showing his immaturity and lack of appreciation for the work of others. If he doesn't like it, fine. But don't profess to be the speaker for all, as we have our own opinions and they don't necessarily agree with his. That you can see from this thread. He is just hoping to get a "bite" and upset you. Mind you, I haven't seen any of his builds on here neither! Hmmm..... I certainly hope he IS NOT an Australian, as it would be an international embarassment to us mate. He hasn't even got the common courtesy to fill out his profile details. I would hope that anyone on a model forum would appreciate the work of others and realise how much effort goes into producing the final model. I'm not particularly into sci-fi, military of figure models, but I can appreciate the work and effort that goes into them. Also there are techniques that have been exchanged between modlling genres as well. I have to say I agree with the others, if you have nothing constructive to say mardtrp then don't say anything. AND, if you continue in that vain and flame others ( against the site rules anyway) then you are not welcome on this site. IMO. Keep up the great work Dingo!
  20. Hi and welcome Tom from Tom! Hope you enjoy the ride mate.
  21. Welcome to the club Rob. Hope you enjoy the ride!
  22. Hi Joe and welcome! Gees guys, it's sounding like it should bea wheel chair meet here. I'm a young 53....okay I feel like I'm 93.....but hey, we all enjoy models! Don't we? Doesn't matter what type...plastic...steel....resin....card....tin...flesh...oops!
  23. Got me too Evil! No Magnum eh? Nice airbrush though, especially at that price AND with a kit! You'll have to let us know how it performs.

Got me! When I first saw the photo I thought it was your inspiration for the build. Not the actual model! Very nice indeed Hermit and nice camera work as well!
