  1. Does any one have a picture of this trans kit and maybe any built ups? I am really planning on doing a few of these, and a few wagons would be awesome too. ModelHaus resin http://www.modelhaus.com/index.php?c=4106&p=69381 Car should look like a 500 wagon with the galaxie 500 grille. I also saw there was going to be a stock option in the AMT reissue? Would that mean a front grille with hideaways?
  2. I just love the reg duallys, and checkmate I know 100 for that kit is nuts.
  3. I never saw this truck before wow! http://www.ebay.com/itm/4x4-Dually-FORD-Pickup-1-25-Vintage-Revell-OPENED-Truck-Model-Kit-80s-Htf-6415-/370670169242?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item564da9ec9a
  4. Here is mine, I know I will break the bank with a few of these! Been waiting to build one and I almost purchased the resin version a few months ago, but now all I need to source now is the cowl hood, the SVO style steering wheel and the cobra rims that were on the SN-95 body cars that I know Revell made a few of, I cant wait! The first picture is when I first bought the car and the second is after I modded it a little. I had a over bore, tubular front clip with coil overs, Cervini 4" cowl, 3:73 gear, Steeda short shifter, and BBK long tubes. I wish I still had her, but I can have a model!
  5. thats really pretty, I love the big iron!
  6. so cool!
  7. that looks awesome I love these cars! Very clean build!
  8. Model Roundup sent me my weekly news letter, Here it is: Model Roundup Newsletter Daytona Transport Truck, 1976 Ford Econoline Van, 1970 Ford Galaxie Police Car August 26, 2012 in this issue :: Useful Links :: Ordering Information Dear Model Roundup Customers: Welcome to the Model Roundup August 26th, 2012 email briefing to our select customers. We use this forum to keep you updated on new kits as they are released and other hobby related issues, which we feel, might be of interest to you. If you do not wish to receive these periodic briefings, please use the simple unsubscribe buttons below. The new kits just keep coming! This week we have received two important new kits in our warehouse, and another significant kit is getting close. Our dual-headliners for this week are the MPC Daytona Transport Truck and the AMT 1976 Ford Econoline "Shorty" Van. We are also pleased to announce that the return of the famous AMT 1970 Ford 4-door Police Car. MPC-787 Daytona Transport Truck (1:25) $23.90 (In Stock) Breaking news! The skilled researchers working in the vintage MPC tooling vault have uncovered another exciting GEM! It's the futuristic Daytona Transport Truck, a forward-thinking design from the creative minds at MPC during the 1960s! This unusual kit predicted what "car haulers" might look like today. Its features included many "space age" design elements which were so popular in the 1960's. The kit builds into two sections: a forward cab that swivels, connected to a long, flowing, fully enclosed bed section. The canopy of the cab opens and piston arms on the swivel assembly move in an out when the cab is moved side to side. For power, the kit includes an all-chrome six-cylinder overhead cam motor set up in a front wheel drive configuration. To top things off, you can even use the finished model as a wild custom display case for any of your other built models that fit inside the "bubble-topped" transport bed! The Transporter is a grand size for a 1/25 scale kit. So much so, we're not sure how MPC managed to stuff all those big parts into their standard box size back in the day. To make sure the parts don't get compromised, this 2012 reissue has been packaged in a slightly larger box. This extra room will also allowed MPC to include two sets of window parts! One set will be clear, the other tinted light blue, offering you an easy way to give your build a truly custom look! The kit is molded in white instead of red as it was originally. This is a huge improvement if you wish to paint your model any color other than red. The kit has lots of gleaming chrome parts, hollow black vinyl tires and colorful water-release decals. Features All Chrome Six-Cylinder Overhead Cam Engine Custom Interior Console Custom Bucket Seats Plated Foot Pedals Rear Spoiler Chrome Shocks Two Sets of Window Parts (Clear and Light Blue) Molded in white with chrome parts, realistic hollow vinyl tires and colorful water-release decals. AMT-767 1976 Ford Econoline Van (2 'n 1) Stock or Custom (1:25)$21.90 (In Stock) Ford's "New Generation" Econoline van (Stock version) was a commercial workhorse and a customizers dream. The kit features a 124 inch Wheelbase "Shorty" E-150 with Chateau trim including deluxe Captain's Chair Seats and Full Wheel Covers. The mini-hood opens to reveal a forward-placed 351 C.I.D. V-8 engine. The superdetailed chassis has a massive new frame with Twin-I-Beam front suspension. The alternate custom building version features the latest in street/show customizing including wild "Mural" decals, front spoiler, wheel flares, custom grille, rectangular headlights, header sidemount exhausts, Keystone "Ranger" spoke wheels, super-side Goodyear Street tires. The "Phantom" variation also includes optional windows and roof vent. The kit includes three sets of custom windows in clear and smoke tent with "Gemstone", "Teardrop" and Freestyle versions. The 1970 Galaxie is a fully detailed kit with opening hood and engine in contrast to the AMT 1970 "Motor City Series" kit that was an LTD version and did not have a detailed engine. The kit is loaded with authentic period correct Police Equipment. Please see the pictures of the side panels above for the in scale police car equipment included. Our friend, John Greczula at Round2/AMT, tells us this kit will include the original Troy, Michigan police car decals as well as four period correct Agencies. He did not have the details at the time of this briefing, but we will post the police Agency details on the web site as soon as we have them. John tells us that the tooling for this kit has been cleaned up quite a bit to eliminate any flash from the parts trees. We like to recognize those who work so hard to keep this hobby alive and John Greczula at AMT, in particular, has done so much on our behalf to bring these wonderful kits back to life with their nostalgic vintage box art. 9. I got super lucky, I really take my time sometimes buying models and this Bird was at a local independent HS for a while, no one bought it for a while, and every time I went there it stared me in the face! I finally broke down and I am glad I did! You Can still get them on Ebay. I found more for about the same price a found at my LHS. About 25.00 of course shipping extra! and there were about 5 or 6 I saw available.
  10. Thanks guys!
  11. Ahhh your right I looked it over again. A 429 then with 2v heads? Also the engine was cast with a manual trans not a auto unit like the plate that also came with it, another reason besides scoring a nice motor was that fact. Thanks for all your comments!
  12. I just finished this up and it was great fun. Model King reissue 71 Bird. I built it as a curbside so I could keep its 2V head motor for other projects. (1970 galaxie??) The kit comes with a engine plate so I detailed that and here she is. I also liked the 1970 Bird's painted front bumper so I kept that but other than that its a 71. I also added a soft top with some strip styrene and adding texture with holding the spray can at a distance. This forum is such a great resource, thank you members for all the tips, it made my first custom soft top a success!(I think) When I was researching the car online there were many slightly different ways I saw the soft top done. I had to go through a lot of pictures to find the right combo. The area that is louvered behind the back glass sometimes was part of the soft top and sometimes i saw it painted. I went with paint I liked the look better. Comments are welcome, enjoy!
  13. I bought three when the last issue came out. two are built and the other is still mint sealed. but i want more!
  14. I caught this on tower's website, is it true? I did not see any mention on the manufactures web sites. LNCPVD AMT 1/25 '70 Ford Galaxie Interceptor Police Car 5-Jul-2012 19.49 Late Aug here is link: http://www.towerhobb..._announced.html
  15. thank you all for the great comments! I found some correct resin dog dishes for this car I plan on swapping. Also when I complete the sister drag car ill post updates.
  16. i used dupli GM Brown Met. I know I need to add foil too, in fact I think I am going to do that and add a soft top. I built this last year when I ran out of foil, I recently bought BMF new "improved" foil and used it on my 65 wagon build that stuff for some reason works better than the original foil. So a redo is in the works
  17. Indianapolis East Side
  18. They were vinyl seats. Again water based Acrylic testers model master flat tan works great. The rest was spayed with flat black. I am going to post my 2010 corvette convt next. Thanks for comments!
  19. Box Stock 2011 AMT Showroom Series. Used Dupli Brilliant Black Pearl, and Dupli clear. Tried to get panels to fit as good as I could, seams are a still little large still for my taste, also chrome wheels need a flattener. But I think the car turned out great and looks awesome in my GM area. Enjoy!
  20. Another older kit I completed in 2011. MPC Round 2 reissue 1976 Caprice box stock. I'm loving all the reissues, as I was born in '82 right after many of the greats were already issued. Enjoy!
  21. The reissue kit comes with a top for the "crew wagon" version I will paint body color and will hold some spare slicks
  22. this is the bahama blue in more direct sun
