  3. I've seen this car many times on the internet , and it is one of my favorite cars.... its a beautiful, well build car.... awesome job.
  4. thanks again guys... I had it at the track for the first time last night ... this is a smooth running machine... I turned it down a bit... was doing mid 12's (1.2sec.) in the scale 1/4 mile... full tilt I'm guessing it will do low 11's, good bracket car.
  5. thanks everyone.... ok... and how do you know about the black Chevette?.... thats pretty funny... when I built the car didnt even know about the car.... then when I was at the track last wee a dude I race with told me about it.... what a small world. 12. love it.... great lookin build.... not a big fan of the wheels and tires this was my try at a rat rod... oh and its a slot drag car also...
  13. The interior is vacuform lexan to look like a driver with a helmet on... I dont like the look of my cars with a dude with a helmet so I have my girl paint over them to look like dudes with big heads... and I added a styrene mohawk to this one so he had a punk rock look... he has tatts and a studded choker as well... thanks for the kind words...
  14. thanks guys... as a kid I built models like crazy, then stopped for a while.... I started slot car racing in my 20's and we used lexan bodies... the detail was ######. than about 10yrs ago we started using model bodies, and it was a relief could start build nice more detailed cars... and thats where were at now.... they still use lexan when its all about going fast, but I stick with the model bodies. but to answer your question, I only build models to use as slot drag cars these days... so a little hint to model builders... if your looking for parts go to your local slot track that has a drag strip and talk to the racers... we only use the bodies!!! we have tons of unused parts trees!!
  15. Picked this up off ebay built for a couple bucks... striped it down, added a pro-stock scoop and did a repaint... built a chassis for it to be used as a slot drag car.
  16. its great seeing one of these kits built and built well.... I have most of Roth's models but never had the balls to build them.... I like just knowing I have them...lol I'm just another collector kook...
  17. first off it looks awesome super clean job.... second where do you get the roof section??.. or did i miss that somewhere?.. oh and here is a pic of my real caprice wagon... air bags and 20's
  18. I thought I would post a nice close up of the chassis I just got done for a VW bug build I'm doing... this is why getting the right solder and flux is so important...
  19. no prob... here is an ebay # 160357193434 put that in the ebay search and those are the motors that alot of guys are using....
  20. Hey Oscar, I think I can answer most of your questions... First off the Shelby GT350 is a perfect car to use, it has a good wheel base and will be stable with the right chassis. As for the chassis I would recommend a lase cut chassis kit.... these kits go together like puzzle pieces, .. but you will have to have good soldering skills and the correct solder (silver solder) and flux (acid flux) to do the job... you will also need music wire (spring steel)or stainless tubing.... this might all sound a bit much, but its not really... if you plan on only building one chassis... buying all the supplies might not be the answer... you might wan to look into having someone build one for you... anyway here are a few photos of a completed laser cut chassis kit (all stainless steel) I just built for a fellow racer.... if you interested in having one built feel free to PM me. the Super 16D is also great choice (look at the pro-slot super 16d's)).... they can be very consistent which is great for bracket racing. Tire/wheels... on a Shelby GT350 I would use a 1 1/16" tall by .500" wide pro-track tire/wheel combo... here's photo of the style wheel you can get... as for links i would use the keywords I've given in my answers to search the internet to find shops in the UK
  21. Sam the chassis is laser cut stainless steel and music wire silver soldered together....
  22. well I wasnt lookin to do the high dollar street rod... or a low budget rat rod, this time... I wanted something a bit more classic... the more I think about it I guess gasser style kinda? anyway I got the body work done and decided to paint it... I went with testors Inca Gold, Root Beer and wet look clear one coat lacquer (rattle can)... I was impress by how well it really did cover.... next will be the Ross Gibson Hemi Gasser engine kit and custom music wire chassis....
  23. thank you, ... to date I believe this is my best build... it looks fast, but has been geared to be slow...
