  1. I just sent you a PM...
  2. thanks man.... yeah you can see most of what I've done on SlotDrags.com
  3. This is the start of my traditional style '34 fordhot rod build.... this also will be another slot drag car...I'm hoping to include custom body mods , engine detail and slot chassis build as well in future updates... this style rod is the inspiration... I even like the color (no flames) this is the kit being used First step was cuting the body into three sections... Cab, Hood and Grill.... all that will be used is the cab and grill next was to create a firewall for the cab... a piece of styrene did the trick.... the body has also been wedged at this point... more to come...
  4. wow... thank you for the kind words.... if anyone can point in the right direction on a thread that has some good in on motor detailing... please post up...
  5. I love this... thanks for the great idea... do you have any shots you have taken in this box?.... if so would love to see them...
  6. this is a resin '28 ford... done budget rod style... custom music wire chassis and suicide front end... mild detail to the motor, nothing like some guys on here... I need to work on those skills... rear tires and wheels were narrowed on the lathe this car was built to be very low for bracket racing... 1.85 sec. in the scale 1/4 mile (55')
  7. that would be how well you build the chassis for how fast you want to go.... the track I run on is a scale 1/4 mile... (55 feet) and the shut down area is another 25 feet.... so in that 55' I'm doing it in 1.6 seconds @ about 35 mph..... so my car stops about 3 feet into the shut down..... now other guys are going up to 80 mph when they hit the shut down so it takes them a much long time to stop.... so all that said the more stable you build the cars chassis the less chance you have of crashing.... adjusting weight and wheelie bar height have a lot to do with it also.... but like in real drag racing there is always that chance something might go wrong... all in all to many of us its not true satisfaction until we see these cars we build go down the track... and not just sitting on a shelf collecting dust... but to each his own... and Rob I would LOVE to see your Rat Bones car flying down the track... thats bad ass!!
  8. LOL... well the story with the driver is nothing more then when you drag race these things, one of the rules is you must have a 3D driver/interior .... there are a few companies that make these in lexan, and all have horrible looking drivers with helmets on.... so I stared having my girl paint mine with people heads on them... but because she is painting them over the helmet they all have "big fat heads".... which in my case works great since I have a "big fat head".... the wheels and tires are slot car drag tires... natural rubber tires on alum cnc machined wheels... if you have a slot car track near you they can get these for you... here are some of the other styles
  9. Thank you... this are is one of my weekly bracket cars.... its not fast (1.6sec) but its very consistent... and its great eye candy sitting in my pit box....
  10. Thanks... now I hope it goes down the track just as nice for the guy....
  11. This is one of my fav cars.... wish I could say I did the body but I cant... a dude out of NY did the body.. It has a custom music wire and spring steal chassis that I built( not shown) heres the pics...
  12. Dont really know if this should be in this section... its a slot drag car I built for a friend. hood was modded for the blower and a huge pro-mod wing was added... custom built SS tube and spring steal chassis (not shown)
  13. thanks.... no it's auto-air pearl cooper
  14. this is the chassis I built for it... body on chassis.... ready to hit the drag strip thanks for lookin....
  15. I drag race 1/24 - 1/25 slot car and love using model and resin kits... this is one of my latest builds.... I started out with this snap-tite kit... I picked up some tube styrene to make the turbos and intake tubes... next I cut the hood to make way for the turbos, intake and exhaust... heres the parts mocked up on the body... now for the pro-mod wing... here is the exhaust mocked up... thru some paint on it...
