  1. Thanks, I will continue testing different type of primers - that one really wasn't working properly, it was like I would have been painting over the wet soap or something, it just didn't stay on the surface.
  2. Asking stupid questions here I guess, but I am pretty new with this Future -thingy, and I have to ask something. I have understood that I can use it to seal for example bigger body customizations etc., stright to the plastic. Then You could be able to primer the body and perhaps sand it and primer it again. Am I wrong, I just didn't got the thingy working. Paint didn't stay on the waxed body. Quite a frustrating... It might have been the problem on primer too, cheap paints probably ain't the best ones... But just to ask, am I on right track? I'm searching a way to keep the shaved handles and trims away. Thanks.
  3. Thank You very much for updating this thread again. I already did scare that Your Mercury has been dropped to the same place where all the other models usually end up to... To the shelf of unfinshed projects... Great Looking Mercury indeed. Keep it going, not too much work left anymore, but it's tidious...
  4. Ouch, it always hurts to lose a loved family member. I can feel Your pain, I've lost various cats during I've had them. I do have 2 of them right now, and in past I've lost 2 who were overran by a car, and one left under the train. One I had to get to the vet because he got some kind of cancer or something, went to very bad shape in quite a short time. Etc etc. I hope You'll get over this (too) later, take Your time, and cheer up with the newbie in house when You got the kitten...
  5. Hello all..! I haven't post my works here so much, but I guess there's something that could be posted... This is something I've been tinkering what, five days now. Started on wednesday evening. I wanted to saw something because I was bored, and I did see one old amt Mercury body, that had been chopped by former owner pretty well. Well, then I got and plastic surgery had begun... Here's some sneak peaks on it, full photos can be seen on my Fotki Here on Merlow's own album. I personally think it's turning out pretty good.
  6. Like usually, I'm asking stupid questions again... I didn't get it, how did You got rid of those scratches on the roof, did You repolish it with the polishing kit? Can it be redone after the waxing, or do the wax must be removed first? -Sorry sir, I still feel a bit confused with this... I just realized the roof looks like a mirror now on the newest pictures. Oh, and I can see that Your healing gets progress, You've continued this project. Great thing to be noticed.
  7. Thanks a lot, I got a bunch of new info about this stuff, but I still can't locate the brand in Finnish market. I'll continue wondering...
  8. I believe I'm asking (once again) kinda stupid question, but I hope You are able to answer me... That Future-stuff, seems to be very useful stuff. Now, I do not live in US (unfortunately) so I'm wondering what that stuff is, some kind of floor wax for plastic floors or what..? I tried to seek on local stores for many kind of waxes, didn't pin out any those could have been good for this kind of activities... Some hard wax perhaps? Hope You get better soon.
  9. Hehh, same with me, "wip"s on all the shelves here... I saw some photos of something that I didn't consider ol' skool lowriders, some too new body types and some off-road cars... That's why I was worried about.
  10. Thanks again, Master. It's great to see this progress slowly with plenty of tips and tricks, those You consider to be obvious things I guess.. I'm now wondering that waxed roof. Tell me, it looks like it still has some scratches on it (from sanding I guess?). You typed there it'll be ok when it's done. What did You mean, huh, are You going to sand it even more after waxing it? I thought it must me all cleared out first and after all is done to it, then wax on it... I think I ask stupid questions, but I just were wondering it...
  11. After various e-mails with mr. Steve Kohler, and my dealer here in Finland, I have resolved this case, I guess... I suppose there were no any kind of problems wih Steve's business, and all the problems and untrustworthy dealing happened here in Finland - I suppose my dealer has been bluffing me on this case. He has no any kind of evidence of any kind of order, no any kind of proof of purchase, no markings on paypal etc etc. So I'm here on my knees praying forgiveness rfom Mr. Steve Kohler and all the people who might have bad feeling about this post here... I'm sorry of pointing out a wrong direction. So I'll try to contact stright to resin firm later, not dealing with all these hands on row here... So thank You and excuse me, and sorry and so on...
  12. Hello there fellow... Yeah, me too, I've been crawling through all these 26 pages right now, in past 2 hours... I have seen various tricks and tips and hints those I'm gonna use on some of my projects asap. Thank You. And that line the thread begun, showed me the right way... Oh, how much I hope You'll get back on the right lane again... To the old school lowriders, hehh. That's the way it should be... Here's one of my old projects as well, these are what I do love to build and have... Keep up the good work, loved the stuff You have there..!
  13. I am honestly happy to see this kind of loyalty, and people are all claiming that things are good. I appreciate this, and this makes be believe that some mistake has happened on somewhere along the packages trip or something... Anyway, I was talking with my friend yesterday, 45 minutes on telephone asking and confirming certain things. I may give all the details and names but I guess it ain't correct to do here in public forum. I try to figure out how to use private messages on this board type and I'll contact Steve stright. I recalled the time a little wrong, it's about 6 months by now. We've been waiting and waiting due we wanted to believe package is on it's way. Paid with Paypal. Got some kind of mail, that claims all are ok and package has been shipped to City of Turku, Finland. Few mails posted lately, then no reply anymore to any mails. No any kind of tracking code provided, and I understood it has been asked. I try to PM Mr. Kohler now...
  14. Thanks for all the replies, and especially, thanks for Mr. Kohler's own reply here. I will now, after reading all these replies, contact my friend here in Finland, who claimed to me that he has made the order. He also claimed that he paid over 50 $ via paypal, and he never got those moneys back, never got the package, got few all around replies from the firm and so on. Now, if this is the only problem ever faced on this firm, I'll check it out what the hey is going on here... Thanks in advance, I'll get back to this asap.
  15. I got this problem solved, thanks to everyone who were disgussing and helping about on it. I was terrified to use that oven cleaner, because of I thought it's son uncontrollable inside that foam ball it does. So I decided to try out the nail polish remover. Well with a soft rag it worked like a charm (better than mine lol)! I got the boiled areas cleaned up. Now I resanded the whole body and did wash it on soapy water once again... It'll get new primer on it when I have the next spare moment... Thank You all.
  16. Thanks in advance for the tip. I'll check it out asap. I don't have any cad right now, but it's possible to convert those from cad formats to format that a normal photo shop or something will understand... Oh, and with cad You can render it to a jpg or something, right..? I'll check out that link anyway, I'll get back to this, thanks.
  17. Hey there! I did look all of those pictures about dozen times... Whoah, looks very nice indeed. I know I am asking perhaps too much, but is there any hope to get those drawings and measurements? I'd like to create one of these next to my 1:25 cars... That's one excellent teardrop trailer, huh. Would like to build one on 1:! too, but that' impossible to get on license paltes here in Finland, argh... But hoping to get one on 1:25 at least...
  18. asco

    1949 Ford

Wow. Extremely great-looking chassis coming out, huh. Looking forward how this is going to build up... I'd like to see the '49 sectioned too, but the stance is everything...
  19. OK, thanks to You all. I'll check out the oven cleaner in few nights... Just have to get some spare time for it... I'll cross my fingers and hope the best...
  20. Jepp, maassa maan tavalla. ;) Sitä on tullut useammassa foorumissa pyörittyä mutta tämä vaikutti aika asialliselta taas pitkästä aikaa...

  21. Yeah, I did sand it over with 600 grid paper before first wash, washed it with soap and rinsed well. Air dryed. First gray primer on it, on thin layers. Few days drying, then sand over with 600, same process, washed well with soap, rinsed, air dryed... White primer on it, and BOOM, like a field at spring..! Uh. On Jimmy Flintstones page they claimed that there are some brake fluids those can be used for stripping paint from resin bodies, and thinner they are telling out too. argh, I have nothing to test these fluids at all, have to be tested stright on that body... Scary, huh.
  22. We usually use those liquids those are pointed to open drains when those have had enough hairs and butter there lol... Works like a charm on plastic parts, and won't hurt plastic at all. Brake fluid has that annoying thingy on it, plastic gets harder and is able to crack into pieces very easily. I feel that the result for resin is the same on both liquids anyway... Have to try that oven cleaner too... You're sure it won't harm resin at all? Nail Polish is another thingy to try out, we'll see which one I'll locate first... Thanks a mass anyway. First reply in other forum was "sand it, fill it, sand it..."
  23. I got an annoying feeling with this company. I wanted to have 5-6 bodies from this list: Jimmy Flintstone @ Resin Realm. My friend does import model stuff to Finland, so I decided to ask his help on this case. He made the order, paid it when asked, and poof - nothing happened. We mailed to this "Steve" -guy several times, demanded our goods etc, but we never got those. "Steve" told us that the goods have been shipped, that's all. About an year old case now. We lost several dozen euros on this case, and this firm has been reported to credit card companies as an untrusted company. Anyone have had better luck with it? Or any hints how to get stuff working..? EDIT; later on this thread You'll able to see full explanation, but the problem wasn't on Resin Realm after all... I got only wrong information about claimed order.
  24. Got to say, this is the post we were talking about in our forum here at Finland... It was mainly pointed to newbies, but I have to say we all have been watching this our eyes rolling huh... I've been tinkering with these plastic pieces and glue since about 1984, I guess, and I've been doing most of these things wrong and harder ways. Damnit... Great to see and read this article, keep it coming.
  25. Thanks guys. Nail Polish Remover with rag, I heard from another forum too. Will try these as soon as I dare... In fact, I used same type of primer from same brand, earlier was different color (gray) than the latest (white)... Damnit, never happened before, and all other parts survived, just that reson body damnit... Thanks really a mass!
