Ok, as some of you know my dream is to open up a kustom car shop, Sik N Twissted Kustoms, so I thought it would be a cool idea to build a cuple of shop trucks for it. I'm gonna build three of em for now, Dodge Ram VTS, Chevy Silverado, and a '56 Nomad. The first one on the bench is the Ram, It's getting the rims from my Buick GN DONK (the donk rims are a perfect size for a fullsize pickup), a kustom red and black interior, shaved all the way around, and because it's the VTS it has a lowered suspension and a Viper motor. Then comes the Nomad, it has a 383 Stroker, 2spd powerglide, and is going to have a basic black vinyl interior with some orange in it. Then I'll do the Silverado, but I'm not sure what I'll do to it. I'm still deciding the colors for the trucks and the Nomad, but I think I'll do the Nomad in flat black and flat red. Here are some mockup pics of the Ram.. Ben Kenobi!!

For me the part I'm going to detail the most will be the interior. I am using 2 diffrent flocking colors for the seats to get the right effect for the interior....here is a pic of the 1:1 I will be covering the seat in flocking.....fuun......and the door panels too. I also did some detailing on the dash. Added a couple of Detail Master PE Gauges for that modified car look. And I painted the body!!!!!! Yes my Chevelle is sitting outside with no tires while I do work to the trunk. Hope Ya'll like!!!! Ben Kenobi!

Picked this kit up yesterday from a LHS. Opened it and it looks pretty cool! It IS the DINK....err....DONK series but has all of the stock parts too (YAY!!). I plan to build it so it's MOSTLY stock. I will add some extra gauges inside and some paint mods. But otherwise it's going to be the stock TURBO V6, stock interior, and stock rims and tires. It will be gloss black with a red interior. I'm hoping it will be kickass! Ok....off to work! Here is the kit.... here is how i want it to look! Body will be painted soon! Ben Kenobi!

The skull looks awesome...did it come in the kit? the sissy bar looks good, can't wait to see it on there. You going with the wire wheels or the mags? Ben Kenobi!

Motorized Drill Trucks are used by the Volunteer Fire Depts. of New York. This is a competitive sport that is done by the members of the fire dept and run by the FD's. The events are held on weekends during the summer at the purpose built tracks at the firehouses themselves. There are three classes of trucks, two of which are used for racing in the tournaments. The "A" class are the actual firetrucks like the pumpers and the ladder trucks etc. Example: The "B" Class is the class of racing truck that is based off of a pickup truck, all have custom built "boxes" in place of the beds. Example: The "C" class is one of the more interesting classes out there. All the other classed have basically been the same from the beginning, aside from advances in technology, they never really changed. The "C" class started out as modified passenger cars....now they are purpose built tube chassis racecars. Example of the origional ones: Yes it's an origional HEMI car....not A-990 tho... Example of a modern "C" class: Ok I was able to get up close and personal with the Central Islip Hoboes trucks and was able to take some detailed shots. Here is a link to the "B" class truck.....it's a 1966 Ford F-550 http://s30.photobucket.com/albums/c326/che...boes/B%20Class/ The "C" class. http://s30.photobucket.com/albums/c326/che...boes/C%20Class/ Hope this inspires some builders! Just a basic mockup....I'm gonna sand the body a little and give it another coat of Grape Pearl then clear it and let it dry....I kinda rushed the painting process and had a few dust lumps...lol That's all for now folks!!! Ben Kenobi!!!
-
Mmmmm.....grape pearl........mmmmmmm As you can see the date on the pic of the first body is from 2004!!! I have waited 2 YEARS to get to this moment of being able to paint it..........I'm verry happy with this accomplishment. LOL More........

Finished the interior....well..need to find the wheel then it's finished...lol More Interior... Motor only needs a few more detail parts and some wiring.

Kris!! Great to see you here! I joined recently too and am loving it. Hope you have as much fun here as I am!!! Ben -
Pancaked the hood. Cut out the L-88 "lump" out and made the opening smaller by gluing and puttying the remainder of the hood in place. More primer!!!! More STILL TO COME!!!!

I removed the radio and heater controlls from a 04 ZO6 and put em here.....fit perfectly! I cut out the console and smoothed it out and then glued it back in.....came out decent...but with windows less than 1cm tall i wasnt too worried with interior details...lol The subwoofers came from the AMT Rides Edition 66 Nova...worked for this. Seats are from the R/M Honda Civic....but again they didnt last long...too wide for the slim Vette interior
-
yeah...that primer was a good way to tell where I missed spots and did a good job of it too...lol I WAS going to use these wheelsand tires but I later decided to go with something that looked a little better. I think most of you wil agree on that too. Just a quick motor shot...... Up next: INTERIOR!!!
-
Mmmmmm.......fresh primer........mmmmmmm More primer.....and if you notice the engery drink the body is sitting on I will tell you that they appear a coupla times in the buildup....the last one is the most fitting...lmao Ben

First basic mockup of the 4th body. I left the Vette's A-pillars intact so I wouldent have to scratchbuild them. Can't decide weather the roof is really low or the motor is really high......hmmmmmm  More to come!! lol
-
This is my current WIP it was (hehe) a Revell 1968 L-88 Corvette Convertable and has had some minor (I will laugh again...lol) bodywork done to it. This is actually the 4th body it has been through. I will show the 3 diffrent bodies that I have pics in the order of their making. Body #2 (never had pics of the first as it wa s a basic mockup and I bought a complete kit to use afterwards.) Body #3 Decided to go with a Camaro roof...it's the same roof as the current "sucessful" KKV The current body of the KKV.....yes..I finally go the sucker painted...but those pics will come alot later......muhahahahahahaahaha...lol Aside from all of the body and interior mods the kit is basically box stock. Including the motor, blower setup, the suspension, and engine bay stuff. I'm not sure if there is a 3 pic per post rule but I will go by that incase there is. Ben Kenobi!

Heeey, I'm Ben AKA Chevellekid.....I'm new to this forum but not modeling, been building for most of my life and am always open to new areas of modeling. I'm 14 and am lucky enough to own a 1972 Chevelle Heavy Chevy, needs a full resto but doing all of the work is fun!! Some of you will reconize me from the Scale Auto forum (i see a few names from ther allreday!!), Model Car Cafe, and BnB Auto Builders. I like to build everyting but mostly Musclecars and Kustoms. But my favorite thing to buld would be these....hehe Theyre Motorized Drill Trucks built and used by the Volonteer Fire Depts. of New York. It's a competitive sport done weekly at the purpose built tracks at the firehouses themselves. The truck pictured here is the Central Islip Hoboes 1966 Ford F-550, I am despratley looking for one of these to build this truck, I know the guy who was producing them in resin went out of buisness but I'm hoping to find one anyways.
