  1. That's what I was looking for! Mark, yer a genius. If I scan, color correct and print, I can make a duplicate for the additional stripes I need in the trunk. I know all the cars don't have those extra stripes, but I'm creating a model that incorporates all of my favorite features, not a studio replica. Now, soon as I figger out how to send myself some pics from my new Droid, I'll post them. Darn phone is like learning a computer for the first time. Thanx again! Joe
  2. All good information and a terrific history lesson to boot. Guys, I want red stripes on my car and I'd like to do it with decals. Can we get back to the original question? Joe
  3. Thanx for the input, however, I meant correct to the pics I've seen. I know they're amber even though I've never seen one in person. Klingon Bird of Prey studio models are painted nowhere near the green they appear to be on film. I'm going for red by jinkies! Joe
  4. I'm super-detailing my 1/32 Batmobile and would like to find the correct red stripes as opposed to the amber set supplied. Anybody notice there's only one trunk stripe instead of 4? If Slixx or Whoopie Kat has any plans, I haven't heard. Would one of them make a set for me? What? Super detailing did you say? I'm using a boat load of straight pins for the antennae, door pull knobs, push button tranny greeblies (in the correct color and order) and it's even getting a pin head for the fire extinguisher pressure gauge! Hey, I'll need a teenie tiny bat decal for the extinguisher too! I'll have pics soon. Joe
  5. C'mon John! I'm still dealing with the psychological ramifications of having to contend with your other builds slammin my ego into the next county. Now ya' gotta pull out a Funny Car? My current project (K&L Wynn's 777) won't hold a candle, but thanx for the inspirey thing.
  6. Ya' know John, um, it's not fair to the other builders that I come here primarily to see if you've posted something else. Absolutely beauteous! Paint I can only dream of (came close once tho.....). Also loved your Showboat build. What an inspiration. Can't match you, but hope to join you one day with my yellow WagonMaster. Thinkin of superchargin' them puppies. But. I digest. Back to you.
  7. Guess I gotta finish my Stardust Digger now. Thanks. Thanks a lot. As if I don't have enuff to do. Jeezaloo.
  8. OOOOOO!!!!! Shoe polish! I knew that, but didn't even consider it. Ewwwwww! I wonder if there's any yellow shoe polish out there? Thanks for the tip about the dullcote afterwards. I'll give it a try, but let's keep those ideas coming guys. Joe =/\=
  9. Hi Pholx, My third post. I'm rockin now! And, um, I've already got my hand out for help. Ball Z, huh? I'm doing some Pegasus drag slicks for a project and I'm having trouble marking the outer white (or) yellow ring and index mark. Acryl flakes off and enamel is attacking the rubber. I did a test on the inside of the tire. When I flexed it to check the results, the contact patch split! Yikies!!!! So, what are the best paints, markers (I hear Gelly pens are no longer made), or any other method of marking that won't smudge, smear, run, fade, flake, or otherwise destroy this tire? Thanx all. Joe =/\=
  10. Permission granted. This whole hobby is about the recognition of each other's work and inspiring others in kind. The full plaque reads "The Original Batfink". It's a tribute to Ed Roth and the whacked out inspiration that he provided. Take one PL 60's Batmobile, one Mr. Gasser monster, stir gently. Add a group of Big 'Ol Honkin accessories from an American Muscle Willy's, bring to a rolling boil. Blend in some Bat-Goodies like the spinners, cape, chain (I used an earring for the medallion on the chain). Vigorously apply 5 coats of Krazy Kolors purple / blue / orange color changing paint. Finally, haul buns down to the local trophy shop, pick out a base, order an engraved plaque and VOILA! Glad you like it. More to come. I always do off the wall stuff. Except that after I finish the Stardust Digger, I'm gonna knock out a box stock Kenz & Leslie Wynn's 777 for a diorama I'm gonna have done by summer (?). I'll be recreating a real life scene where I get covered in rubber from Don Schumacher's '68 Barracuda while I was takin a pic of the K & L car in the staging lanes. I thought they were 'sposed ta wait 'til they got the car on the actual racing surface. But, that's just me, I guess... Until later, Joe =/\=
  11. Hi Pholkz, I REALLY tried to stop building when I rebooted my life. It was time to simplify things. Since my attempt at stopping failed miserably, I opted to stop Kitbashing and start knockin out some SERIOUS although general and non-specific nostalgia drag racing (may be read as PHUNNY KARZ) modeling. Focus Joe, focus. Anyway, I'm back. Formerly Kitbasher at Starship Modeler. I'll start with a pre stoppage model that will give you a basic idea of exactly how insane I am. Later, I'll show y'all some pics of my mascot, Mr. Bruce W Batzilla. After that, some in-progress pics of an in-progress AMT Stardust Digger that I have in-progress. Quite a few modifications such as a 4 bar roll cage, T/F front and rear wings, Pegasus tires and wheels (Sweetness), and in an act of total insanity, made the steering linkage hook up INSIDE the body. Did I mention I hinged the body? No? Sorry. Did I mention that I stopped kitbashing. Yeah, thought so...... So enjoy the pics for now. I'm not what you would call a regular poster and I'm not the fastest builder in the world, thanx to World of Warcraft, but I'm sure you'll like my stuff. Kinda' my little way of saying Thank You for allowing me to see your stuff and steal any really kewl concepts and techniques I may take a fancy to. You're Welcome. Oh, before somebody asks, yes, I'm really really old (57), but hey, deal with it. I have to. Joe =/\= "It not who I am inside, but what I do, that defines me,"
