  1. Thanks for the comments and tips, guys. I dont plan on polishing or clearcoating this one, I like the light sheen it has naturally. I like the idea of the vinyl for the numbers. Does it have adhesive backing?
  2. Just started on this one last week. Its Tamiya Blue Pearl.
  3. Got a little more done. I'll have to fix the stripes i had a little bit bleed through the tape. Sorry about the pic, its hard to take a pic of a white car with the flash.
  4. Yeah, it keeps you a little more motivated.
  5. Where would one find those wheels you are using for this build? Thanks. Looks good btw.
  6. Yeah they have some similarities, but the Jeep wheel has a larger center hole for the bigger hubs, and they are two piece inners and outers bolted together.
  7. Heres a couple more update pics. Im looking for number decals #16 as in the picture they are yellow. Is there anything close to that out there? If not I might try my hand at printing them. Alslo I'm looking for a wheel/tire combo. It stll needs some paint work, and other small details. Its getting there though, let me know what you guys think.
  8. You would be correct sir. Unfortunately I'm too young to have ever seen him race.
  9. My grandfather ran late model races in the early 60's around Chicago, and I've had a picture of him in his car on my wall in my hobby room for years. I always wanted to do the model but never liked the kit choices for a 57' Chevy 150. So I figured I'd try out the Revell Black Widow version of the 150 to make a replica of his old 1:1. I dont think I'll be doing it exactly like his car, (beat up) but how it would have looked at the begining of the season. I scanned a copy of the picture I will be base this off of. I ordered the kit so it should be here Tuesday I cant wait to get started. Oh yeah, and im planning on getting it finished by June so I can give it to him for his birthday. 10. Hope this helps, if not its atleast a good read. Should give you a couple ideas of what a 1:1 unloved Vette looks like. http://jalopnik.com/5472253/peter-maxs-36-vintage-corvettes-the-full-story
