  2. He was a trend setter that's for sure. I saw his video he made with the 65stang drift car. It lit a fire in me to no avail! I was an instant fan!  May God Bless him and his family! Maybee the 164-year-old daughter will follow in his footsteps! We can only hope!

  3. Just got an e-mail from Hobby Lobby on their latest ad. They have clearance on hobbies up to 80 percent, on-line. I checked it out! All the kits listed in clearance are at the 40 percent off level! This is on-line and not in the store. Most kits were the ones by Amt, and Revell with the newest box art, that were slow sellers that modelers already had or are not interested in. If you don't have a Hobby Lobby close to you and want to order on-line, now is the time to stock up for the winter building season! Good Luck in your hunt! Merry Christmas!

  4. TCoat, welcome! You will fit right in on this forum! went to London, Ontario for a hockey tournament in 1973-74. Got our butts whipped by the Canadian farm boys 10-1. We were outnumbered! out-hustled and those boys were strong and tall! I was tripped and fell and snapped my Callar bone(ouch!). A great learning experience! You have excellent modeling skills!

  5. Saw the 3-d printed Powell pickup on the Johan table at the DAAM show last Sunday. Okey was there. He said the real 1/1 truck was on a 1948 Plymouth chassis(he accidently said 41!). He said he was awaiting approval from whoever owns the rights to the Powell name for a licensing OK. He had an E-mail list to sign up when it would be available. No price yet, just the promotional hype right now. He sounded like it is going to happen though! When I get notified on this, I'll let you gentlemen know the price! Vintage Truck magazine did an article on a1/1 Powell pickup a while ago!

  6. Thanks, Tim for heads up on the magazines. When I got there at 730AM Sunday there were about a hundred mags left. In that pile was Model Cars mag no 1 vol 1. Thanks for the heads up! also thank Steve Perry for the delivery of them!

  7. Ordered from Fred Cady a year ago. He still has some decal sheets left. Don't know if this one is one of them though. I had to send a SASE for a list of what was available. Then I sent him a money order for the stuff I ordered from him. He sent the order in 2 weeks. Old school, but still good service after all these years!!!There is a thread on this, just google it to find it!

  8. Sledsel, the only way to keep your mind going and without pain, is to model! It is your therapy. You have to design, make decisions, problem solve, compromise on ideas, etc. Don't give up now, the best is yet to come! Also, you suffered a loss of Physical functions and income. Time to take that to court with a good Lawyer, Just as CL Sell says! You are in my prayers for a full recovery!

  9. They are a Model Company for the Modeler. They used to own MegaHobby and sold that at a profit, after building the business up to selling 1000+ orders a day, worldwide! They started Atlantis, purchased old molds from defunct companies, fixed them and started making old kits, new again! I have ordered from them 4 times in the last 2 years. The only problem I had was the short shot parts on the  dragster. They shipped replacement parts in 3 days! My model car orders were always received in 3-5 days. Remember you are on West Coast and that probably takes a little longer for shipping. They usually e-mail your order confirmation number immediately after you order from them!

  10. Blacksheep214, I 'LL TAKE A CASE OF THEM! (lol) Seriously, this is someone's fantasy box art by the use of the old Johan emblem/trademark changed into Canadian poncho.com. If it was a real model kit from 1969, there would be no dot-com stuff on the box, and no barcode. Thanks for showing it to us though. Now I'll print this picture & resize the sides to fit an old model kit box. Then I'll glue them to it and take it to our club meeting and put it under other boxes so they can't open it! A good Halloween joke, I guess! LOL
