  1. i think they should put all the models in a show in a locked display case and the only way to get your model out at the end of the show is to show a picture id and one of the event staff is the one to retrieve it out of the display case that way no one can steal what we have put so much hard work into. and yes i had one stolen but i got lucky and got it back a week later i had entered a chevy dually snapfast kit that i lowered painted aluma coupe yellow flocked the interior and made my own shifters for the steering coulum. i took second in the show and when i went to pick it up my model was gone luckily what happened is one of the other entrants had entered one simillar and had taken mine by mistake the hobby shop owner called him and he brought it back when he got back from being out of town. so i had a happy ending a week later but it made me not want to enter any more shows. but i am going to try and attend the one for the jwac build and i will be keeping a close eye on my model.

  3. awesome work! i've never really tried to do any scratchbuilding but watching you makes me think i can do it so i think on the next build i will try to do some cause you make it look so easy. thank you for sharing this can't wait to see more.

  4. wow! those yellow stripes and the yellow on the rims give it just the right amount of pop factor can't wait to see it done keep up the good work. just a thought though what about tinting the back window? i think it would really set it off and then add a nice performance decal to the bottom of the rear window. just a thought take it or leave it.

  5. sorry i haven't updated in a while but with the chevelle i mad a mistake when i was painting the headliner and got paint out on the body and had to repaint it so i should be getting some photos up soon as for the peterbuilt it's on hold right now as i'm working on a 69 nova and a 29 phaeton which is for the jawc build. will get pics up soon. thanks for looking and let me know your ideas and input i appreciate it.

  7. well i got lucky and steve kohler at s&s resins had a 28'-29' phaeton body so i got it on the way should be here any day now and matt aka highway is helping me out with the 32' parts i need and a parts pack caddy engine do to a trade so as soon as everything arrives i'll be getting started now i just need the headers and the stacks from replicas and miniatures(thanks for telling me where to find those jarius) so i should be getting some build pics up soon.

  8. is there a deadline for the JWAC? by the way great job everyone.

yes the deadline is for the pnw 2011 show on march 26th 2011 for in person entries but i don't know about for the email side of it for that you will need to ask fletch.

oh and jairus i'm glad to be a part of this. i am happy for the learning experience of doing this to advance my skills.

  9. Jeez, that bar is so high I don't think I can even see it from down here....

well alan there are alot of people better than me but all i can do is just try my best and do the best i can and hope its good enough. i like seeing how good other people are it makes me strive to be better. 15 years ago i entered my first and so far only model contest with a snap fast chevy dually that i customized with mainly photoetched parts. i was happy with it and i took third place which i was surprised by. but it made me see what i need to do to get better and now that i've gotten back into the hobby that's what i'm trying to do. i may not be any where near as good as stan but i'm going to try my best and have fun with it and that's all i can do, and i just hope everybody is happy with and enjoys my efforts to try and duplicate jairus's artwork.

  10. thank you for your article i've always been afraid to do resin cause i thought it would be to hard but now i'm going to be doing it. because i've looked at resin suppliers before and seen things i really liked but was too afraid but now that's changed. thank you keep up the good work.
