..... one of the nicest ladies and greatest racers I had the privilege to know back in the late '60's and early '70's was Judy Lilly from Wheatridge, Colorado
While not her most famous paint job, I believe it was one of her prettiest .......... MPC kit, MCW paints, and Slixx decals
..... This model depicts the Cuda funny car owned by Paul Candies and Leonard Hughes ......... Revell chassis and engine, Competition Resins body, Testors paint, and Slixx decals
The chassis is from a Two Much kit ........ the engine is a Ross Gibson 413 with Comp resins injectors .......... and the body came from Chuck Mier at Altered States
........ first is the regular paint job ........ Revell kit, MCW paints, details from Pro-Tech, decals from Slixx
... second is the "Outlaw" .......... again Revell kit, MCW paints, Pro-Tech details and Slixx decals
....... Terry Labonte's two "Iron Man" Monte Carlos ........... first is the dull silver '96 car which won at North Wilkesboro and was destroyed in a Phoenix testing accident
.... second is the "600 Straight" Iron man '98 Monte Carlo that raced in Phoenix on October 25, 1998 .......... started 31st and finished 10th in a rain shortened race
.......... The Grinch" ........ Kellogg's 2001 Monte Carlo run at Phoenix and Homestead .......... owned by Rick Hendrick and driven by Terry Labonte
Box stock Revell build ......... Tamiya paint ......... Three Amigos decals
.... Walton-Cerny-Moody ............ one of the two famous orange WCM top fuelers of the early 1970's ....... (the other was, of course, Warren-Coburn-Miller's "Rain for Rent) ..........driven by "Darth" Don Moody and tuned by Wes Cerny, this dragster was a big threat to win whenever it hit a drag strip .....
The model is an old MPC WCM kit with some breakage repaired .......... orange paint by MCW .......... and decals from Billy Gooche
.... there isn't a drop of green paint on this car ........ having totally exhausted my supply of Cobracolors Candy Apple Green, I had to resort to other means .......... the upper part of the body was sprayed with Cobracolors Meridian Turquoise Metallic ..... the lower sprayed with Cobracolors Navy Blue Metallic .......... then the whole thing was covered with Cobracolors Candy Mayan Gold ......... the end result is pretty much what I was looking for in the first place
.... built using a Bantam Blast chassis & engine, Competition Resins body, 4-port Hilborn injector & scoop, and front tires and wheels, magneto from Pro Tech, custom mixed Cobracolors paint, and parts box Slixx decals
..... our latest club build is '69-'70 Dodge Chargers ........ my response is the Condit Brothers & Beaver's "L.A.Hooker"
Pretty much box stock build using a Polar Lights kit
