About Me

I am like most of you model-ergists building models today. I started when I was young and my first attempt was a Mercedes Benz Gull Wing but at 7 years old it didn't get very far before my older brother took over. The only things I remember about the kit was the doors opened and when I started painting, for some reason the black paint I was using would apply just as shinny as it could be, but for some reason when it dried it would be all dull.. Dah

I stopped building models when I found out about girls and motorcycles, and then in 1976 I realized that after all that intricate model building I was doing, I could get the 1/8th scale powered models to reach speeds of 70 mph and I was hooked on Radio Control. By 1982 I was racing along side of the worlds best drivers while at the same time I raced my way to a ranking of #16 in the USA on the ROAR (Radio Operated Auto Racers) ranking list in 1984. In my last race got first place in the 2004 ROAR 1/5th Scale Nationals winning the Expert Super Touring class. The only problem was in the last 10 minutes of the race, my throttle finger went to sleep and I couldn't feel it, I was far enough ahead to win the race though. That is when I figured out I couldn't run after them things like I did when I was younger so needless to say I have started building models again..

In the late 1990's until 2004 I fallowed the NHRA getting to know such team owners as Don Prudome and Don Schumacher and such drivers a Ron Capps, Gary Densham and Jerry Toliver while I was doing web pages and other web and animated graphics for the NHRA and Good Guys racing Associations

In the photo below is my good friend Clark Oden (behind), and myself in front of thefamed Winged Express AA/Fuel Altered car. In my lap is the urn that carried the ashes of the original owner driver, Wild Willie Borsch. The ashes of Wild Willie have been taken from track to track with the car since Willies passing.
