  1. In the kits I have it's the opposite. The convertible and the Fleetlines have chrome reversed wheels, but with baby moon caps. The -51 Bel Air HT has chrome wheels without caps. Deeper rears and shallow fronts. I used them on my -36 rpu.
  2. I had the same problem with a RevMono 1968 Firebird and solved it my own way. I have a jar of dissolved parts tree sprues (dissolved in ethyl acetate) that I use as putty sometimes. I like it because it blends in with the styrene of the actual piece I'm working on. It also stays as flexible as the surrounding material. To make a "mold" you could cover the corners of the engine compartment with BMF. The styrene goo doesn't stick to the outer surface very much. Then you just put the hood in place and push some styrene goo into the voids. Let it harden, carefully loosen the hood and trim and sand It and you probably won't be able to see that there was anything wrong with it from the start. If the edges are very thin you could always sand them a bit to get a little more surface to stick to. You could also "prime" the surface prior to pushing the goo in. Just put some ethyl acetate on with a brush and let it melt the surface a bit first. It worked for me, anyway.
  3. Well... I'm proud to be Swedish!
  4. Thanks a lot for your kind words, guys. Imagine that I almost didn't have the guts to bring it to the show.
  5. Very neatly done and it looks real good! I was thinking of maybe doing mine in a Carrera Panamericana way maybe with some kind of NASCAR chassis, but I realized the time frame was a bit to narrow. I'll keep watching your build taking its shape.
  6. Thanks Rob! Well, let's tell it like it is. I cheated. Since there's no motor in it, at least at the moment, I just sawed the upper front subframe from the frame. Shortened the springs, lowered the frame and glued a couple of styrene bits in the gap. Who needs realism? It's just plastic, right?. It would be fun to try to squeeze in some kind of motor in it though.
  7. Last weekend I finished this for the theme class at the 2011 B.U.C.K. Internationals. I've been back into the hobby for about two years but this is my first project with something more than primer on, besides for a couple of slotcar conversions. Nothing fancy, just the custom front and rear bumpers. Frenched headlights, shaved emblems and door handles. Lowered it and used the wheels from a Revmono -49 Merc. The interor got a couple of bucket seats, a steering wheel of unknown origin, and a different shifter. (Can anybody tell me where the steering wheel is from?) It's no show winner but it was fun to show it anyway. Thanks for looking!
  8. What forums are we talking about? Could you let an inquiring mind in on that? (PM for discretion maybe?)
  9. I recently bought a late issue of the Little red wagon that's molded in white.
  10. Great stance. My favorite Corvette generation too. Not sure about the wheels though, but if you keep them, please keep an eye on the directional wheel design. /Borgis
  11. That's so cool. Very nicely "weathered" too. The aged effect is really well done. I'm working on a -36 Ford Coupe which is getting a similar body treatment. Thanks for showing yours! /Borgis
  12. Sure is. I bought a resin one from Jimmy Flintstone. Great quality too. /Borgis
  13. Dude, I love the -65 convertibles too. I had one and sometimes I miss it to death... Good luck with the build. I'll keep an eye open. Got a couple of them kits in my stash too. About saving the pictures, You've got some kind of program for editing pictures, right? (I hope you do, otherwise it'll be tricky). If you do, just fire it up, go to the ebay pictures. Enlarge the desired picture, hit the Print Screen key on your keyboard. Then switch to the imaging program (application?) and look for a "Paste as new image"command or something like that. Hopefully you now see a picture of your screen. Just crop what you want to save and then save the picture somewhere safe. I hope this made sense... Good luck, once again! /Borgis
