  1. Model Truck and Fire Apparatus had quite a few Macks, if the CH is the flat nose rather blocky cab I think they had one. The company is now under new ownership as American International Truck Models, the owner has been redoing many of the molds so everything is not up on the site yet but it might be worth checking. I've emailed about a couple of things and have always had a quick reply. http://www.aitruckmodels.com/
  2. Are you sure its an 8V92? I thought it was an 8V71. The older kit is supposed to include a gas turbine engine as well.
  3. There are companies that make decals, chimneyville is one I know of http://www.chimneyvilledecals.com/index.html You can also make your own, if you get a good quality photo of the door seal. The only good "slime green" I have seen people use is actualy automotive paint. You are about as far as I've got so I don't know about the tubing. If you need ideas I've got a website for emergency vehicles, there are a couple of San Francisco ALF's that I want to build from the Trumpeter kit after I've built one OOB. http://www.geocities.com/cnf_e32/index.htm
  4. The only problem I ran into with it was the first time I used it, the paint was coming out under the nozzle making a mess, I know a few others had this same problem. Lately that hasn't happend so maybe it was a problem Krylon fixed. On the dull and shiny I've noticed that more when I use it over primer or another paint. The thing I really like about it is you really have to try and make it run, I've been in a hurry and been impatient several times where I know another paint would have run but the Fusion goes on perfect anyway. I have decided it is more sensitive to cold and humidity though, but I can't prove it, just a theory I'm developing.
  5. Nice job, I love the 41-46 Chevys. I wish Revell would reissue this kit, I have two waiting to be built but I have so many ideas and only 2 kits so they sit until I can make up my mind. I don't even see these on ebay much anymore.
  6. This is coming along great as usual. Are you going to include a full hose bed or just a couple of pre-connects off the back? What are you using for the gold striping? it works well and adds alot to the overall look.
  7. I hadn't thought of that, gives me some ideas maybe a 4x4. Actually I'll probably do mine in red, I'm running low on green anyway Dave, that is looking really nice. I know you added the rotoray and Trenton decals but is the rest basically OOB?
  8. I really started paying attention to trucks with cranes when you started this one, now even though its done I can't help but look when I see one. I actually saw one very similar to what you did today coming back from Bakersfield, not blue or a Paystar but almost the same build up. Bakersfield is not much of a city for sight seeing but its great place to look at trucks (they don't call it the big truck stop for nothing)
  9. The dog in the junk yard is a nice touch Here is mine It has become quite a bit messier since I took this pic.
  10. I don't know what problems you would run into with the wrecker body since I've never built either kit but that would make an interesting wrecker. I saw a cab over frieghtliner wrecker this summer, like the AMT White Freightliner, they may not be common but there is at least one. Diesel doc works on real wreckers and just built the KW wrecker, maybe he will have something to say about it. Mack Mechanic that is an interesting truck, I've never seen a low rider semi before, do you plan on having it pull a trailer? maybe a car hauler full of custom cars?
  11. You know Dave, you are not making it easy for me to leave my ALF in the box. I want to wait until I can really spend some time with it but yours is looking so good I just want to start gluing.
  12. I can't help you with the Mack CH but I know of two truck after market suppliers I've used. Spalding Trading & Shipping http://www.stsmodeltrucks.com/ the other is American Industrial Truck Models http://www.aitruckmodels.com/
  13. Thanks, the dozer has been alot of fun to build, the weathering has been trial and error but I think I finally am getting it about right. The worst thing about the dozer is its the only kit around, I'd love to do a more modern D4 and/or D6 with transport.
  14. I always have a dozen or more projects in various stages of unfinished, it seems like I start 3 for every one I finish. Besides finishing some of these I have the new Trumpeter ALF waiting and I want to build an Air / Light truck to go with it, I am considering the Revell 99 Chevy truck, but I might go with the AMT Dodge or Chevy dually instead.
  15. That is a great looking truck, but I'm curious about the pink frame, that can't be factory so why pink?
  16. Looks like a couple of familiar faces here. I heard there was a new forum that sounded friendly starting up so I thought I'd pop in and see whats here. Here are some of my recent builds, a couple of US Forest Service Law Enforcement trucks. You will find I tend towards green things in my builds.
  17. Well I see a few familiar names here so you've probably seen these but not all together. The dozer tender and engine have been done for awhile but I'm trying to finish up the transport and dozer. I have a set of chain binders to hold down the dozer and I'm building a ramp for the trailer. The chain binders are photo etch from KFS and are quite the joy to build but they look good now that they are done and they actually work. For those of you who don't know me you will find I have a thing for green trucks.
