  4. Need some help on cab colors with this color winslow stripe color combo. The stripe colors are harvest yellow, tangerine orange and tomato red. The stripes came those colors in the kit. I have built a 359 and a 379 yellow cab with that color combo stripe and a 359 and a 379 black with also with the same stripe combo. They all look Outrageous. Anyway. I just need some help on finding the color of the next build. P.S Twotone color options are welcome also roof, fenders, tanks, and frame rails. Possibilities are endless. Greatly appreciate all the help.
  5. Southgate. Heres some beautiful 359 features. Double round headlights, Marker lights on sides of fenders, Turn signals on top of fenders, Air horns are round at the ends, Cab lights also have round glass lenses, Vortox air cleaners are plumbed through the sides of the hood, Little spring preloaded door on side of hood, Entire hood is different, Battery boxes, Wipers operate from cowl area of the windshield to the center of the windshield post and visa versa, Optional AC unit mounted to the roof, And the Corvette style dash. Tube type aluminum wheels, Motors were either mechanical 3406B air to air Caterpillars, 444 Big Cam Cummins, or 318 2 cycle Detroits, 379 features. What mse op said. Different headlights brackets, signal lights attached to the headlights instead to be on the fenders, different dash, Let me add to the 379 features. Hood is totally different, Air cleaners are plumbed through the cowl, Windshield wipers operate like on a car they clean to the drivers side and visa versa, Air horns have a rectangleular end to them, Cab lights have squareish type lens. Motors are electric. Let me explain that. Press the fuel pedal to the floor twice the motor only revs once. Thanks to the computer that controls everything. Thats why we call them electronic Cats, Cummins, and Detroits. Well thats all I could think of hope this all helps.

  14. That kind of money and its not even a complete kit. Still have to buy a correct donor to make it 100 %. I figure $500.00 to build 100% correct.
  15. http://cgi.ebay.com/German-Revell-1-25-Hea...1QQcmdZViewItem For a gravel trailer? Don't even look like a gravel trailer looks more like a wilkens walking floor.
  16. What's so special about the Bill Signs Peterbilt. I have like 12 of these trucks. I got them for way cheaper than the goin' rate. Lets see. What does it have thats so special. Stock front bumper with out the fog lights, Ol skool double round head lights, Custom front grill, Side hood emblem plates, Vortox air cleaners, 3 marker lights on each radius of the front fenders, Cowl extension where air cleaners are plumbed, Cab extension, 4 controls on bottom of cab on drivers side, Rear cab panel with window, Specialized hauling blind spot mirrors with brackets, Longer fuel tanks with steps and light bars, Pipe off turbo pipe with resonator that goes into 8'' straight pipes with custom brackets with 2'' round lights that sets it farther back off cab, Steps off frame rail also with lights, Custom deck plate with tool box and brackets, custom plates that hold lube refiners on left and right side and custom rear center plate , Quarter fenders with lights, Custom tool boxes with quarter fenders in center of 6ft spread axle set up also with lights. 17. How bout it there wild_chld81. Check this out. Try scratch building them out of some 2.5 inch ID pvc pipe. Cut it in half There ya go done deal. Won't even cost ya that much $$$$$ to do. I personally stay away from resin parts. Pin holes, fit, style lines, details, silicone release agents, etc. Why I say this is. Because I did 2 gmc astro day cabs for a close friend of mine who works for yellow freight. He wants to make 2 road tracors from back in the day. I said no problem. Ill do the cabs. Washed, Sanded, filled visible pinhole imperfections, Washed again to get rid of the release agent etc. Primed the cabs. Im like look at this. There were pin holes that you could not see till you put some primer on the cabs. I filled every one with a tooth pick. Sanded smooth. Reprimed them and they were good to go. When they were done I was just lookin' at them and im like ah what ever. Im a. Big cat power, 360 inch wheelbase, Air ride all the way around, 22.5 LP Tires, 127 inch long hood, louvered grill, Vintage rectangle peterbilt hood emblems, double round headlights, dual vortox air cleaners, 8 inch strait pipes, texas front bumper, 18 inch drop visor, wti fendered, Peterbilt conventional day cab kinda guy. The gmc astros were still cool tho. I just noticed little stuff like the resin casting was not perfect like rivet detail, door gaps, and other little things. There is no better feeling than working with a perfect factory piece of plastic out of a kit or better yet fabricating a part or whatever out of styrene plastic, aluminum or stainless steel. Talk to you guys later. 8)

And take some time out of our build time, busy lives and pick up a pen or pencil, A piece of paper and dig in our pockets for a stamp to send a letter to some of these manufacturers to redo some of these trucks and trailers. That have been bringing some crazy money on evilbay. Maybe even we should get a petition going on the net and send it via email to the ceos of the main manufacturers to bring these trucks and trailers back to the hobby shops all ove the world. 8)
  21. Whats up guys. I decided to make this a little different. Im letting you make the call on my next build. Its going to be a Peterbilt tri axel dump truck. Peterbilt 359 or 379? Its your call. Thanks fellas. 8)
  22. Anthony Tim & John. He sent me a picture of the front of the box. Im like what the? The bunk, cab, and hood looked like it was Peterbilt. Im like thats no Marmon. I rember my friends cousin had 1.1 Marmon conventional with a 318 detroit double eagle sleeper. We drove it from one side of the yard to the garage to take out the 318 and put the juiced up Cummins 444 in. The old and tired boat anchor 318 labored and seized right in front of the garage door. Today I was out on the road Im like look at this and saw a chalked out red 1.1 Marmon with a high rise sleeper that looked like it came of a old Kenworth. Pulling a container on a chassis out of the rail yard. You guys are so right that kit is so inaccurate. From what I can remember the cab had a look all its own straight up and down windshield posts. Gotta love the style lines up by the vent window and side window that wrap around the back of the cab. The hood had the look like it came off a old Kenworth A cab conventional. Got to admit that was a cool lookin truck in its time for beeing all hand built. So again I gotta thank Anthony, Tim and John for talking me out of buying this kit and saving me $100. Ill take that cash and buy another Peterbilt. Thanks guys. Talk to you soon. 8)
