jcvt replied to jcvt's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Finally got Some more done to the flatbed (its only been 2 months haha), went with the one peice draveshaft. Thanks for all the compliments guys, it means alot. Sean this kit is very nice. If anyone was thinking about it I would def get one, I have one more to do after this. just used some NASCAR drifshafts and some plastic rod Interior made some grooves in the bed, could have been better but it looks good to me close up -
where in VT are you? I was wondering if there were any clubs around me. I am in Bennington

Ford F250 Flatbed
jcvt replied to jcvt's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Haven’t had much time on the bench but I got almost everything painted and its almost ready to go together, hopefully this weekend. I am having an issue with the drive shaft; does anyone know how it should look? I have a shaft from the F250 kit in the second pic, should I make it look like that or just do a straight shaft? I am trying to use 2 Nascar shafts from my parts box, unless someone else has another idea? -
Ford F250 Flatbed
jcvt replied to jcvt's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Yeah I noticed that when I was putting it together, it’s all fixed now, I was trying to get the rear wheels as far back as I could. Using 3 different instructions is kind of confusing at times haha. The flat part of the bed is sheet styrene from Sean's rollback kit, very nice kit I might add. -
nice build, where did you get the kit from? I would like to build one of those

And last but not least the rollback kit from Sean (sstacey47) Here are the Kits This is what I would like it to look like Starting to make the frame Frame finished

this is a beautiful build, how did you make that plow? I am workign on a F150 and I would like to build a plow but im not sure where to start, any suggestions? -
no problems with this kit, the only thing I remember was you have to glue the tailgate in, I wish it was usable but other then that it went together very well.

Thanks for the comments guys, this is the paint I used Testors One Coat Lacquer Fiery Orange, I like these better then the regular Testors paint they seem to lay alot better in light coats rather then one shot like they would like you to belive. I got the kit for free from a guy at a flee market last summer, he said I could have it if I brought it back to him and showed him when it was all built, when I bring it back to show him next summer I may just give it to him and buy another one for myself. It was a fun and easy kit, I will probly do another one sometime.

Here is the box that the kits came in, all 3 for $15 I couldnt pass it up. Thanks for all the comments everyone, and yes the paint is from a testers can with no sanding polishing or clear coat. Im not a huge fan of Testors cans I can use about half a can then the nosel gets all clogged up and I usullay end up throwing it out, not sure why they do that but right now its the only way I can paint. I am working on getting a paint booth for my room for the winter and then I will learn how to air brush. Anyone know of a good booth to buy or should I just try and build my own?

Everything is scratch built except the body and frame. -
This is a fast and furious Supra kit that I tried to make a twin turbo, mostly everything under the hood is scratch built.
